Enbrel losing efficacy
Hi all. I've been on Enbrel for almost 4 years in combination with 20mg subcut MTX. I have been having my first real flare up for the past 6 weeks or so and am waiting for an appointment with my Rheumy next week. I have spoken to the specialist nurse as have been unable to come off the reducing dose

Had to stop my meds again
Been off enbrel and mtx for just over a fortnight due to a urinary tract infection. Starting to flare rather badly now - hands, feet and knees. Latter is the worst..both knees inflamed and pretty painful, very much so when getting up off sofa or climbing stairs. :( I'd only been back on my meds for

Healthcare at Home dumped - hurrah!
Having had major problem with Healthcare at Home delivering my Enbrel over the last year I was informed by my consultant last November that my health authority (Sheffield) were so fed up with the poor service being provided by H@H they were looking for an alternative delivery service. I had a phone call

Feelings of defeat
Good morning all, I've been on here in the past. When I made my profile I didn't know this was primarily for the British Until it was brought to my attention. I have looked for support forums here in the state but I have had no luck. You people on this site are generally caring good people. There

Hi, this is my first post. I was diagnosed with RA two years ago and I've tried Sulphasalazine, Methotrexate and Laflunomide but had adverse reactions to all of them. I was put on Enbrel three weeks ago and because I'm quiet sensitive to medication i.e. various antibiotics, the nurse who came to show

Enbrel site reaction
Hello all, I hope this cold weather is not affecting you too much. My question is that I started on Enbrel 7 weeks ago and had no problems (apart from the fact I find it painful for that 10 secs!) but the last 2 weeks I have had noticeable site reactions which are around 2 x 1 inch, raised and red with

Wrinkly skin !
I'm 67 years old and I've been on Enbrel injections for the last 20 months and it's doing a great job all on it's own. I'm not totally pain free but, bearable. No flare-ups for over a year but, I have noticed that my skin is looking old, thin and wrinkly just lately, more like what I would consider to

Anyone on Tocilizumab
I have had RD for approx 20years, my consultant recommended Tocilizumab infusions after Enbrel injections stopped working, but I have yet to discuss this with anyone at the clinic. I have been on various other medication such as MTX, Hydrox and had to come off those due to side effects. I would appreciate

Anyone taking biologics--effects on liver tests?
Anyone taking biologics like enbrel, humira, remicade or other drugs like orencia to treat another autoimmune disease like rheumatoid arthritis or crohne's? If so, did your liver enzymes go down as well? Just wondering this anecdotally since these are becoming standard treatment for many AI diseases

Herpes?
I recently posted about a rash I've developed, which I first thought might be shingles. Went to my GP on monday to be told that he thinks the rash is caused by a cold sore virus and prescribed antivirals. What a relief, or so I first thought! Apparently, I've since found out that it's more than probable
