I am new to the site and wanted to get my blood/spot results back before posting. I have had all the symptoms of being hypothyroid for most of my adult life. Apart from two tests last year, one was hyperthyroid and then a month later hypothyroid, my tests are always "normal". I have a multinodular

Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Estrogen [2] - Discovery of ERbeta.
In my earlier post, I argued that estradiol [E2] & testosterone [T] seem to pull in different directions, & that an E2:T imbalance in men has been noted in a number of diseases. [1] Estrogen Receptors. The importance of the androgen receptor [AR] in PCa therapy is well known. We try to starve it of

Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Estrogen [1] - (& Androgen Ratio)
This is fmy irst post on estrogen in the "Prostate Cancer & Hormones" series. It is a review of how a shifting androgen/estrogen ratio affects the health of men. The second post will be specific to PCa. While it is useful to focus on individual hormones, there are hormones that work together (such

Pregnant?
My GP asked me to leave a urine sample after my appointment to rule out a urine infection and pregnancy as I've had different pains to my usual ones. I rang the surgery up about my results like i was asked and the lady on the phone said she's waiting for my pregnancy test results to come back. My GP

FSH Levels and Oestradiol level
Hi, looking back at some past blood test results. Have been suffering from severe anxiety for a few years now. My FSH at the time of the test was 7 U/L. My serum oestradiol level was 1777 pmol/L. I was told all was well, at the time of blood test my anxiety (OCD) was at it's worst. I was also

New here & newly diagnosed with hypothyroid
Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and am newly diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, even tho my TSH levels were only at a 5.10 (not sure if being a redhead makes me more sensitive to the symptoms, as I've heard it is possible) but my Dr. put me on 25mcg of Levothyroxine. I have also been prescribed 40mg

Hormone blood tests
I am thinking of getting a blood test for hormones but the ones I have found do not include progesterone, would this be an issue or does anyone know of a place offers this, preferably a finger-prick test. Medichecks only seem to test FSH, LS, Oestradiol and Prolactin. My breasts have become swollen

Is there a protective role of testosterone against high-grade prostate cancer?
New paper below. "This study investigated the role of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in prostate safety and cancer progression. A cohort of 553 patients, 42 treated and 162 untreated hypogonadal men, and 349 eugonadal men were included." "The incidence of positive prostate biopsies was lowest

Period after stopping norethisterone
I took my last norethisterone on 20th Feb and its now 7th March, 15 days later and i still haven't had my period. Online it says your period usually starts 3-5 days after stopping norethisterone? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm unsure whether to book a doctors appointment or not.

Latest results. High cholesterol at 25 and possible PCOS? Help please :)
Hi I've had some results recently and was just hoping for some advice on a few things that are concerning me. After the first 2 test results my gp said once my b12, folate and vit d had been treated we could trial levo if still symptomatic. In all honesty I don't really feel much different. However

Latest results
Hi does anyone mind having a quick look over my latest results please? Particularly anyone with knowledge of PCOS which they've flagged up as a possibility due to a raised hormone. However they've assumed I have a 28 day cycle which I never have. It's normally around 34 days I think but it's been really

How my RESTLESS LEGS were CURED!
Are you taking any form of estrogen? I ran out of my Estradiol 1mg. From Barr Labs & while waiting to see an M.D. for a new lower-dose Rx & I found, to my great surprise, that by 2-3 weeks OFF of this Privider's brand if Estradiol, that my restless legs disappeared. I called my pharmacist & found that

Norethisterone
I've been told to take norethisterone continually for the past 6 months. My stomach has been really bloated the past few weeks and I've been in a constant cramping pain. I haven't had a period since December and thought maybe if i have a period it might help with the bloating, i haven't started my period

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Chrysin
Prompted by a new study [4]. Chrysin is a natural polyphenol - a flavone. It is an aromatase inhbitor & can therefore reduce the conversion of testosterone to estradiol. Although Wikipedia [1] cites studies that found it to be ineffective, I can vouch for it, when taken with Bioperine (piperine).
