Estradiol for the mitigation of adverse effects of ADT.
New Australian paper below. It's not clear to me why this paper wasn't written ten years ago. "Recently it has become apparent that many of the biological actions attributed to androgens in men are in fact not direct, but mediated by estradiol. Available evidence supports a primary role for estradiol

Periprostatic adipose inflammation & PCa.
New study below. It is probably well-known now that obesity is associated with poorer PCa outcome. However, it appears that visceral fat is the culprit. One can be on a 10% fat Dean Ornish type diet & be impressively lean, but high-carb diets are associated with elevated triglycerides & invisible (

Test results and what to ask next
Hi. I finally got ahold of my test results from 4 weeks ago. With these results and a few abnormalities with liver and protein tests the doc was going to just ask me back in 3 months like the test results suggested. When I started asking what could she do for my symptoms now and listed a few of them

Hormones inquiry
I have been taking Norethindrone for two weeks to start my period but have not yet to start my cycle. I have taking a urine and blood pregnancy test that were both negative. It is driving me crazy not knowing what's going on with my body because all I ever wanted to be is a mother.

Occult cancer in patients with deep-vein thrombosis [DVT].
New study below [1]. It's a reminder that dysfunctional coagulation is an early event in cancer & after a DVT , a man should be screened for cancer - particularly PCa. But for men with PCa who have not suffered a DVT, it is a warning that coagulation factors are nonetheless altered. In PCa, micro-clots

Bloods Advice & GP advice
Hi all, This is a slight deviation from thyroid advice, but when my TSH came back at 3.1 (range up to 4.2), I started to look into what might be causing the thyroid to be suppressed and it was suggested on here that sex hormones might be playing a part in this. This made sense to me as I have recently
