A theoretical way to make mannitol work better
The underlying problem with using mannitol as a therapy for Parkinson's disease is its poor absorption in the gut. Hence it produces gas and in some cases, diarrhea. If the absorption of mannitol can be increased than it may be taken at a lower dose and also decrease its associated side effects. Other

Green Tea for weight loss!
Just wanted to share a recent discovery with you all, and I'm very excited to do so. It's often banded about by various 'healthy living' advocates that green tea is supposed to speed up weight loss, and just over a month ago I decided to add that into my healthy eating plan. I genuinely can't believe

Recently read that someone did well taking 200 mg Garlic, 240 mg. Butcher's Broom and 3000 mg. Ginko. Are you sure it's 3000mg. Ginko and not 300mg. Ginko? Was this a typo? Have ordered all of these online with Puritan's Pride. They have great sales. Will try anything to reduce the Raynaud's.

Metallic taste in mouth...
Hello, does anyone experience metallic taste in mouth? I also feel like my teeth feel "gritty" if I grind them. I've been feeling this for a few weeks now. I thought it was the Tumeric capsules I've been taking so I discontinued them about 2 weeks ago.... I was also taking Olive Leaf Extract capsules

add black pepper to improve absoption tumeric
I know some are using tumeric for anti-inflammatoriy properties. I attended a nutrition webinar yesterday and the nutritionist recommended adding black pepper wth the tumeric to improve tumeric absorption. Can add to smoothies, stews, soups etc.

Cholesterol-Busting Super-Soup
Preparing good-tasting, healthy meals is an ongoing challenge whether you're on a plant-based diet or not. Most people have read and learned about some of the 'super-foods' that are high in anti-oxidants and fibre that will lower bad cholesterol as it is found in LDL-C and ApoB. Some of these foods

Fighting Without Meds
Hi, I'm new here. I'm very hopeful to receive and give some advice. I was diagnosed with RA in Nov 2015. I was immediately put on Prednisone and methotrexate which I took, reluctantly, for about 6 weeks. I had a severe rash on my neck and was quickly taken off methotrexate. That's when I tried a different

Hi I'm 44 recently diagnosed with CLL, this is my first time posting. I've heard that Green tea extract is very helpful, however I suffer from insomnia and both the decaf and regular green tea make my heart pound and I can't sleep. Does anybody have advice around this? Also are there other supplements

Can you take Tumeric with methatroxate and steroids?
Hi all I keep coming across members talking about benefits of Tumerick for inflamation. Lamberts sell what appears to be a high dose capsule ( 10,000 mg). I have asked my GP if it is okay to take this dose when on Metax, narproxen and steroids. She said straight out that she did not know. Is there an

The hunt for Aspirin alternatives.... Pycnogenol?
Having recently been diagnosed with low risk ET (low risk of clotting, JAK2/CALR neg, platelet count around 740), my hematologist prescribed 1 x 75mg Aspirin per day with quarterly blood tests. I am notoriously bad with medication and will generally always experience the worst of any listed side effects

Ginko Biloba & Tumeric Supplements
Has anyone got any experience of using Ginko and Turmeric supplements and whether they have had any effect, either positive or negative? I've just started using both and it may be purely coincidence but I've had a spike in my T today. Cheers, Steve

Ginger
I found myself fancying a ginger beer last evening and so had one, only to then have a better evening. A quick Google reveals there is a correlation with RLS due to the anti-inflammatory properties, although for now I'm sceptical about whether one ginger beer could have had so immediate effect. What
