I have severe endo and am due to have a full hysterectomy, bowel resection and removal of endo and lesions. Has anyone had the same?
I'm not sure what to expect after the operation and just how long the recovery period is likely to be. I have already had endo removed from my belly button and lap, but this next op is going to be quite major (so I'm told!) and although I can't wait to have it done, I'm feeling anxious about it. I'm

Evening ladies, I am going in to have a terminal ileum resection to remove a carcinoid tumour and wondered if anyone could tell me how long the recovery time will be? Thanks, Deb

Help with bowel problems!!! Please I'm at the end of my rope....
I had a bowel resection and an ileostomy in November 2012 and a reversal in February 2013. This was due to having endometriosis stage 4. After the reversal I had ileus for two weeks and was only discharged after it got better. Since the reversal, I haven't been able to open my bowels (go to the toilet

Want to be a mother? Think about it now, rather than later!
I was never really all that maternal but never envisaged not having my own children one day. At 35 I decided it was now or never as time was ticking, it never seemed to be the right time before that. I came off the pill and though “if it happens”. It did happen, 6 months later I was pregnant but

Colonoscopy for bowel endometriosis
hi everyone, hope you are all ok today. I was just wondering if anyone has had a colonoscopy to check for endo in the bowel? I had surgery three years ago and they found a deep penetrating nodule in my bowel and they had to do a bowel resection to get rid of it and I have started having the same bowel

Long term Zoladex use
I have stage 4 endo, diagnosed after 20 years. Since then I've had 4 surgeries, the most recent one being a bowel resection and an ileostomy in December which has since been reversed. Each time I have surgery I'm given a Zoladex shot for 6 months with HRT. With no period and no excruciating and debilitating

Endo on bowel and in vagina- surgery
Hi I am new to this site but just about at my wits end. I was diagnosed with endo last year after 12 years of being told I was normal and had IBS. I have been told my endo has stuck my bowel to my cerix and also has grown through into my vagina. For years doctors kept wondering what the lumps were

Stage 4 and scared....no....make that terrified!!!
18 months ago we made the decision to try for baby. I'd been on the pill for around ten years on and off and as a nurse i knew that it may take some time for my body to settle down and adjust to the differnce in hormone levels. I had my first period off the pill in june on time and without any issues

Has anyone been successful with IVF first time with stage 4 Endo?
I was diagnosed with stage 4 Endo in January. I have a a complex cyst to my left ovary and was told that my bowel was adhered to my uterus and bladder and that both my tubes are blocked. My consultant says that I need major surgery to basically unstick my bowel which could involve bowel resection and

Dear daughter's results from op
Good morning lovely ladies, Dd had her op on November 9th and we went up to the RM yesterday for the results of the biopsies that were taken and to find out exactly what was done at the op. A fairly big (no dimensions given) endometriosis cyst was removed and found to be full of old blood when opened

Newbie - so much to think about...
Hi everyone I'm new to the site and to Endo. I thought I'd explain a bit about my circumstances in the hope I can get it straight in my head and try to deal with it all. I'm 36 and although my periods have been quite heavy for a few years I hadn't really thought this was something I could do much

Fantastic Chemo Response - Was it the Curcumin?
My wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Sept '11. She had a laparotomy and her ovaries, tubes, womb & omentum were removed together with "kilograms" of tumour, but we told there was inoperable tumour remaining in the colon and spleen. She was then started on Paclitaxel/Carboplatin (PC) chemo

Top 5 embarrassing endo moments!...perhaps laughter really IS the best medicine :-)
Well it's been a while since I posted on here. I hope everyone is keeping as well as possible. When I was diagnosed with endo some 8 years or so ago, I rather naively thought it had been 'fixed' by surgery...but then more surgery, and even more surgery, and oh some more surgery later and I realised
