I had a bowel resection and an ileostomy in November 2012 and a reversal in February 2013. After the reversal I had ileus for two weeks and was only discharged after it got better. Since the reversal, I haven't been able to open my bowels (go to the toilet) without the aid of laxatives. Its not because I'm constipated, as I'm very careful to incorporate fibre in my food. I simply don't get the urge to go. My Consultant has tried numerous tests including a pelvic floor scan and a defecating proctogram. My whole life revolves around laxatives, going to the toilet and the subsequent rectal pain that follows. My pain is so severe that I have to take morphine. Does anyone out there have any advice they can offer? I've tried everything and I'm going crazy. Please help!!

I don't think this is likely to be the best forum to get the right kind of advice for you.
While undoubtedly endo is the root cause of your having this surgery, it is not done that commonly for endo patients and to have the post op complications that you are having is rarer still.
I would recommend you will probably get much more specific feedback from the following Health-Unlocked forum:
healthunlocked.com/#ostomyl...
or one of the other forums where a ostomys are more common as treatments.
Click on the word Communities on the green bar at the top of this page.
Click on 'Find a community' and you will see a huge list of different forums appearing.
Run down the list for any that are likely to involve bowel surgery and post your question on those forums too, to expand the chances of you getting help from others who have been through what you are going through now.
I really wish you the best of luck finding a solution even if that does mean more surgery. I can totally sympathise how this is ruling your life. I had 17 months of post op badder complications and it was a constant issue 24 hrs a day. Then all by itself the muscles suddenly started working properly and I got back to almost normal peeing activity since then. It was a very hard journey and I had given up hope of it recovering but it did....eventually.
Thanks for your useful feedback. Its a pain having to deal with endometriosis stage 4 plus this horrid bowel problem. I will do as you suggested and post on the colostomy/ileostomy site. I hope like you my symptoms will just disapppear and my bowels will return to normal. Its great to have someone who actually understands what we have to go through on a daily basis.
