Why is it always worse than I thought?
Had a follow up call from my BSGE centre this morning to see how I'm doing after my lap (which was 3 weeks ago). The nurse went through my notes, but not in too much detail (she got as far as 'bowel resection needed' and then stopped and said it would probably be a good idea for me to have a clinic appointment

Bowel & Endo problems
So just had my lap op & that took 8 months. Now it's so severe/deep surgeon has to refer me to specialist . The words stoma bag / bowel resection were mentioned. Have to have another MRI of my stomach! They put in the mirena coil but it seems to have already spread to my right ovary as well. Hysterectomy

Possible endo mass post hysterectomy
Hi, I've had abdominal pain since late 2013. I had partial robotic hyst in early 2013. Pain is about 3 cm over to right and 3cm below my belly button. The pain is a sharp burning sensation that is intermittent. It can last for a week or 3 weeks. Some bloating but no other symptoms. I finally had ct and

Am I anemic?
Hi all, I am a 37 year old man with high serum folate levels of 26 and low b12 levels of 227 (doctor says in normal range). I suffer with crohns disease and can't store b12 due to a bowel resection. So far I have suffered fatigue, dizziness, chest pain, shallow breathing, heart palpitations,

Early 40's BP
Hi, I am a bewildered 43 year old with high blood pressure and endometriosis (which is under control) , my BP, however is random and now worrying. Three years ago BP reared it's head again after a gap from meds due to pre eclampsia. This coincided with an emergency bowel resection required due to endo

Pain Relief from Excision Surgery / Bowel Resection?
Good Morning Everyone, I hope you are all as well as you can be. I wonder if anyone on here that has had excision surgery with bowel resection for their endo could let me know if it was worth it. I am currently trying to decide if I should go ahead with this surgery (I have stage 4 endo and surgery

Another pleural effusion - Scared of recurrence....
Scared….. Hi, I have been so upset this week. I was diagnosed OC 3c high grade serous in October 2015, aged 63. Had 2 carbo/taxol, but because of side affects of taxol resulting in two x 2 weeks in hospital, plus really bad neuropathy, taxol was stopped. I had 2 pulmonary embolisms, pleural effusion

Phased return to work, suggestions?
I've been off work for 2 months following a segmental bowel resection and laparoscopy to remove endometriosis. I have agreed with the GP to return to work in a few days time but on a phased return. He has told me to think about what hours etc I want to do so we can discuss when I see him on Monday.

Post surgery update
Hi all, So 2 months ago I had my operation, this was my 4th laparoscopy. I had questioned beforehand if it was that bad, I had been on zoladex for a few years so thought it couldn't have gotten out of hand. Well it turns out it was really serious, the surgeons did a segmental bowel resection and removed

Had scan follow up at bsge centre
they are sadly recommending hysterectomy with removal of ovaries as I have so much disease in the bowel plus adenomyosis. A basic excision will still leave me with pain and the risk of damaging the bowel if they then have to do a hysterectomy later (as the bowel will already have been operated on) is

Reoccurrence bombshell
Hi ladies, Need some advice and help please. Last year my wonderful mum was diagnosed with stage 3c OV. She had major surgery which included removal of omentum, bowel resection and a total hysterectomy. No visible signs of cancer post op so she had a mopping up cycle of chemo - just carbo as she was

Bowel issues and Itching
Hi I have had PBC for about 9 years. Two uestions for everyone. 1. Has anyone experienced bowel issues requiring a bowel resection and Ostomy? 2. Just recently I have started to experience itching. Normally it has a fairly nasty rash with it and small hives. Is this the experience of others?

Long term bowel cancer survivor
I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 41. It had already spread to the liver so was classified as Stage IV (and there is no Stage V). Questions so far for the Colo-Rectal surgeon. Can you think of anymore?
1. How many women have you treated for Endo? 2. Are you currently treating anybody else for Endo? 3. Have you collected and published any data in regards to Endo that I can view online? 4. What is your action plan for my treatment? 5. How long doyou think it will take to complete the gathering of

Post op problem
Hi, as a few of you know I am currently recovering from a bowel resection and from further surgery to fix internal bleeding. I have generally been doing fine, and not been in too much pain. My bowel has gone into overdrive, but I was told this might happen (and it should settle). Unfortunately, I also

Bowel op - outcome
So I finally has my bowel resection to remove the remainder of the endo. The surgery went well in the sense that I did not need a stoma as they were able rejoin it. It took just over 6 hours for the resection. In equally good news there was no trace of my previously excised endo or endo anywhere other

Ibs following bowel surgery
Hello. I had an emergency small bowel resection at the beginning of January. After two months recovery all seemed to be well. Then I had two bouts of stomach cramps and sickness during the night followed by a severe case of gastroenteritis which lasted about ten hours. Since then I have been sick a couple
