Anagrelide in UK and in the USA😱
My long suffering wife has been taking Anagrelide and a little hydroxycarbamide for five years now. During these five years she has endured numerous upper GI bleeds, and endoscopies, which have never found the source of the bleeds. More recently, and only since her Anagrelide has been reduced from 21

Endoscope..functional dyspepsia and Prilosec
Finally had endoscope which shows not much of anything that one takes Prilosec for....been taking for well over a year....I think it is actually causing my stomach issues. Anyone else had this experience? Will be meeting with GI and want to get off of this. Looking for input from those with similar experience

Plan is
endoscopy
and fix jejunal tube this coming Monday/Tuesday. Doctor informed me this afternoon that the gastroenterologist could decline to do this as 'too risky' . I understood it wasn't possible this week because of the chest infection. But this is a shock.

undigested food
I was tested for everything including colonoscopy and
endoscopy
. Nothing was detected from the procedure or the biopsy. But I continue to have problems digesting food. I have been eating mainly blended food but still have severe cramps and diarrhea.

gastroscopy or endoscopy
hello, as part of early tests on my upper digestive system I’m to have a gastroscopy in the few weeks to look for damage or cancer, is a gastroscopy the same as the
endoscopy
? I will be having a colonoscopy in four weeks so quite close together.

Swallowing issues
I'm waiting for a
endoscopy
to access what is happening, but unfortunately it's about 3 weeks away. I know this is a common problem people experience with scleroderma but i'm finding it difficult to cope with this particular symptom.

CT cardiac angiogram
However in January I had an

and nothing unusual was found. Does anyone know if it is possible to have a hiatus hernia in the heart? If, however the scan could show the oesophagus would the

not have shown the hiatus hernia?

#totallyconfused - flying with varices but no endoscopy planned for 12 months time
Today we have had confirmation that he won’t have an
endoscopy
until sometime next year, so as it’s the only way to know if he has varices, I am unsure how everything the other tests (and there has been loads) have happened yet this seemingly isn’t as important I thought they would also need to know

Traveling to Greece with decompensated cirrhosis
The treatment was generally very brusque and even brutal - but he was diagnosed wih a ruptured stomach ulcer ( caused by the cirrhosis) which I believe they cauterised duting an
endoscopy
. He had nil by mouth for 5 days - just a saline and a glucose drip - plus blood.

Do I declare Esophageal varices (no longer found) on travel insurance?
Hi All, I've booked a holiday for April next year and I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding my travel insurance. Due to having a blood clot in my portal vein because of my MPN I was diagnosed with having Esophageal varices (bloated blood vessels). However, I recently had an endoscopic examination

Levothyroxine Increase
I had lots of investigations ( Gastroscophy/
Endoscopy
which found some evidence of gastritis and an old healed ulcer. At no point did any doctor suggest looking further into my Thyroid.

Endoscopy.. Varices or something else
Finally got my
endoscopy
appointment for May. I have cirrhosis and ascites, I understand that varices develop when blood flow through the liver is obstructed by scarring, increasing the pressure inside the portal vein, portal hypertension.

valtrex and Zanubrutinib
It is not caused by h pylori and I had
endoscopy
last fall which showed mild redness and hietal hernia. My stomach is very sensitive. I don’t drink alcohol and my coffee is acid reduced. The 500 mg valtrex has set my stomach on fire!
