I would like to thank you all for your advice and for sharing your experiences of having an endoscopy. I had this done on Tuesday and although a rather strange experience, the first one done! Reading and re-reading your experiences prior this helped me enormously. Thank you all so much x

Dr wants to do endoscopy in 8 weeks time to see if infection has gone. Won't blood tests, and lack of pain tell him that? What are the benefits of an endoscopy?

Here is the results of my endoscopy and colonoscopy. I have no idea what they all mean. Endoscopy: Esophagus hiatal hernia hill grade 3 Stomach Erythema in antrum Duodenum normal to D2 Colonoscopy: Medium sized internal hemorrhoids Proctitis Mayo 2 Rest of colon endoscopically normal.

I was referred for an endoscopy and possible dilation. 4 weeks ago endoscopy preformed, not able to have dilation as to much food present from 24hrs before. Another one booked which I had yesterday.

Has anyone had this reaction to an Endoscopy? Thanks.

endoscopy is usually done when someone has had a colonoscopy and polyps removed , depending on the position of the polyps removed the endoscopy is done 6 months later to check all is well and no further surgeries is needed .

They discharged me & have been given an appt for endoscopy as outpatient.

Did endoscopy they found erosive gastritis and also esophageal candidiasis. Please, does it mean I’m hiv positive. I’m so scared. Pls anybody explain what my options are and what I should be expecting

The reason I'm asking, my doctor did a upper endoscopy on me and told me I didn't need a colonoscopy for the next 10 years and it sounded a little off to me. I was under the impression you needed a colonoscopy every 5 years. So does endoscopy replace a colonoscopy?

I attended docs few weeks ago & he has referred me for another endoscopy, but not urgent so could be waiting months & months for that!

I’m considering asking for my endoscopy to be rescheduled .

I have ibs and bam so over the last few I have had ct scan endoscopy and ultrasound didn't find nothing major my problem is I take colesevelam for the bam 1-2 a day but it causes really bad constipation I do take movicol to get me going again but get really bad stomach pains on a morning, I have been

So I put a post on here other day bout what they found on ct scan thickening of stomach linning so been looking at my nhs app bout it all urgent referal for endoscopy and said it could be suspected upper gi cancer am worried sick here any advice

But he is waiting for an endoscopy for an unrelated stomach issue and we haven’t been able to get travel insurance . Not even to exclude the stomach issue . Has anyone had any success with an insurer that we could try . Many thanks

hi everyone I’ve suffered with reflux for years had a recent endoscopy and was told I had mild gastritis had 3 biopsies taken still waiting for results from September over chased them up been told it can take 4 months!!!

Before surgery he sent me for an endoscopy, I had it today. They said I have a haitus hernia and damage to my stomach lining from acid (including a healed ulcer). The doctor doing the endoscopy was unsure if I could still have the gastric sleeve as I have acid reflux.

My fibroscan score was 14.1 The endoscopy , blood tests and ultrasound did not show bad results. I started getting these aches in my liver area after I had the fibroscan. Is this normal. Im afraid it started something.

I’ve just had an upper endoscopy and this showed mild gastritis. I’m very fortunate to have a great NHS doctor who listened to my concerns and supported me gaining assurances that there is nothing seriously wrong.
