AST/ALT Ratio
I've just joined as I've been worrying myself sick with online data regarding AST/ALT ratio. My liver function test results came back within range but when I use the ratio calculator it says I have liver cerrhosis or chronic hepatitis. Thanks for any help.

Struggling to bring down blood sugars
Hi Friends, As some of you know I've been on a journey and taking T3 was the real game changer. I am under the care of a fantastic private Endo. I've included my thyroid and sugar results in this post. My insulin is elevated indicating insulin resistance. All tests are done fasting and no meds

Earlier today I posted the link to the PBC Foundaton's Urso calculator. There are so many posts and questions relating to Urso that I thought it was important for everyone to make sure they are on the right dose. This 'calculator' is also available on the PBC app. Knowing you are taking the right dose

Diabetes and oesophagectomy
I had an oesophagectomy (keyhole) in December 2021. I've made a slow, steady recovery and feel very lucky to be as well as I am today. I eat well but of course in much smaller quantities.I'm a type 2 diabetic and prior to my op I had my diabetes well controlled using Metformin and diet. I was told, at

symptoms made clearer
maybe I should make my conditions clearer. intussusception is when the lining of the bowel folds back on itself and makes an inverted U shape which then makes it very difficult for anything to pass through the bowel unless it is very soft, so making constipation or blockages , Like a tyre inner

Kidney update and possible gallstones
Hi everyone, it’s been a hot minute since I posted about my kidneys! A few weeks ago I found out I had leaky protein, but I saw the specialist (who was pretty thorough) and he’s not worried about it. And if he’s not worried, I’m not worried! We’re gonna review in 3 months’ time. I’m so glad it turned

Appendicitis and PMR?
I’m 67, have well controlled PMR and take 5mg of Prednisolone. I have been on a low carb diet because of a diagnosis of pre diabetes. On occasion I have been feeling tired recently and put that down to the change of diet. Ten days ago I got severe stomach cramps and a temperature and went to the GP

Newly diagnosed; so scared, confused, and depressed
Hello. I'm so glad to have found this supportive and helpful community! I apologize for the long post. I first noticed when I received routine bloodwork results a year ago that my eGFR was flagged as low at 80. Since I didn't know what an eGFR was, I started researching and was alarmed to read that

Great purchase
I want to make everyone aware of an amazing book by the world reknowned PBC expert. I encourage everyone, especially those newly diagnosed, to purchase this book - both editions if possible. Dr. Jones has been one of the contributors to The PBC Foundation's Thursdays' live Q&A sessions. This information

My story is a long one-I developed a squint and then mono-occularism around 5yrs otherwise fit and healthy though shy, quiet but determined. At the age of 13 I felt like someone had switched me on or woken me up but by 15 I had my first allergic response to food-Hovis wheat germ bread. I became muscular

previous question
Someone recently asked me about taking Urso after my transplant and the return of the disease for me. I can't find the post but I wanted to answer. I have taken Urso since I was 35 years old. I am now 73. I have had no real problems with it all these years luckily. About 25% of those who have a liver
