Travel Insurance

Hello all, I was diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis last October with Gastric Varices that where treated with a coil at the time.

Can anyone advise as to any travel insurance companies that specialise in Liver disease conditions?

There’s a good page on the BLT website that covers insurance. You will need a specialist insurer as the usual ones on the comparison sites will not cover you. I use Avanti who are really good. Answer all the questions fully to make sure you get the right cover. Varices will make your cover more expensive. They also tend not to like to insure you over a longer period and it will probably work out cheaper to get a fresh policy every time you travel than an annual policy. It all depends on your needs/amount you travel.

I use Staysure. I have cirrhosis but no varices at the moment. As I travel often I have an annual policy which costs £50/month.

we use Staysure too. My husband has cirrhosis but no varicose or other complications at the moment.
