I find it a bit concerning personally that Admins are suggesting LCHF in their welcome posts to new members - perhaps as admistrators of the forum you should let people make their own mind up, so as to avoid forcing one diet on any new person who arrives? That's not to say that any member who has found

In focus: diet - sugar and carbohydrates
Hello This month in our ‘Health in Focus’ posts, we’re looking at diet. Often, people diagnosed with cancer make changes to their diet because they want to support their health. In these posts, we’ll look at some of the types of food that we are asked about on the support service, whether to eliminate

Is Gluten Sensitivity causing your Fibro?
Hi, I wondered if anyone has ever suspected NCGS (Non-Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity) as the cause, or as A cause, of their Fibro. Mine has flared up recently, after I've been on a much healthier diet than I have in years, and I'm baffled by this. Why would I get sorer and tireder while IMPROVING my diet

Hey everyone. I joined here a few weeks ago having been diagnosed with angina. I have obviously had cardiac problems building up over the years but I've been asymptomatic (as far as I am aware). Following a CT scan and an angiogram (both of which were great, the medics and staff all brilliant) I need

How long does it take for jaundice to resolve?
I've just got out of hospital after having a gallstone blocking my bile duct for a week. The ERCP procedure was Friday, in my mind the jaundice would resolve really quickly, but it hasn't. On Thursday my bilirubin level was 138, I'm still yellow, itchy and light-headed 2 days after the stone being

Gallstones or something else
I was diagnosed with gallstones over 3 years ago. It has become very problematic and the pin is now constant on my right side. The issue I’m having is that I started to feel burning pain on my left side all the way down my waist, mid abdomen and back. My left shoulder also hurts and my upper back on

Cravings etc
I notice a few of you doing Lytham's Challenge are reporting "carb cravings" and/or some trepidation about keeping this going. I can completely understand this. Once you get into LCHF, you realise that the British food landscape is awash with carbs (and low-fat food). Supermarkets, restaurants, everywhere

How do you cope? Any experience of diagnosis by ultrasound and subsequently dissolving them naturally? Trawling through all the conflicting websites and books/ papers.

Low carb quiche & salad
Here is a photo of tonight’s tea: The quiche is low carb/ healthy fats as the base is made from almond flour. Mix one large egg with two cups of almond flour (or ground almonds) and a pinch of salt. Roll it out and bake blind for 15-20mins (I put ceramic cooking beans on it to stop it bubbling up).

2 months pregnant - can bloating cause difficulty / straining to pee?
Hi all! I'm 2 months pregnant and since a good 3 weeks I've have this need to strain for a wee most of the times I go. Basically I have to really force and strain for anything to come out and it takes ages and I am worried I'll damage my pelvic floor if I keep at it. There is no pain whatsoever, colour

TAT’s chicken tikka
My first attempt at making TAT’s LCHF chicken tikka, served with salad leaves and raita. My husband liked it so much he’s asked for it again tomorrow. Result! For the first time he’s had my food without additional carbs for him. Baby steps 😉

Low ferritin low hemoglobin celiac three years ?
I have posted before but at my wits end. I was diagnosed celiac three years ago due to very low ferritin and hemoglobin. I began gluten free diet and iron supplements and my levels were back to normal. Dr took me off iron and I continued gluten free. Past labs have shown a steady decline in my hemoglobin
