hello to all in the oesophageal cancer community. not necessarily a community that anyone would particularly choose to be in but also comforting to know others are in the same situation. my husband was diagnosed with stage 2 OG in September 2023. he has had four chemo sessions and is due to have surgery

3 months ago I was informed of a new suspicious nodule in my left lung. Since then I have lived a mental nightmare knowing that its growth on the next scan would mean another cancer or more likely and worst, the distant recurrence of my first lung cancer (resected with my right lower lobe in April

Ketogenic diet alters the epigenetic and immune landscape of prostate cancer to overcome resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapy.
Overall, this strikes me as too hypothetical for us to apply, but what do I know? "Overall, these findings illuminate a potential clinical path of using HDACi and optimized KD regimens to enhance ICB therapy for PCa." HDACi = histone deacetylase inhibitor [To date, four HDAC inhibitors, Vorinostat

Tuesday's Tip
[i]
According to Dr. Jones' book sometimes people will stop taking their Urso because their liver function tests have returned to normal. If your liver enzymes have returned to the normal range it just means that the Urso is working. The PBC isn't cured - it is just controlled.

PSMA/PET SCAN methodology
I'm having PSMA next week and am confused a little about the equipment used. In all my reading about the test, a CT or MRI is used in conjunction with the PSMA Pet, When I looked at my upcoming test on the portal it says PET SKULLBASE TO MIDTHIGH NOPR SUBSEQUENT. That tells me it's a PET Scan and

breathing and health anxiety
Hi all. Much like yourselves it’s a long dotted history with IBS. I’m back dealing with a bout following a stomach bug and work stress. My whole system locked up and slowly became almost unbearable. This time it’s feeling as if my breathing is being placed under pressure as I’m so bloated. The odd times

2nd recurrence
Hi Ladies as you know I have already posted that I have started treatment for a 2nd recurrence of my Stage 2 OC. I was diagnosed in 2021 and had surgery and 6 cycles of successful Chemo. I started to feel unwell around October time with upper right back pain. CT and MRI were clear. CA125 did start

New diagnosis
I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis and, about 2 years later, Polymyalgia Rheumatica. My life has drastically changed between the pain and total exhaustion. Any words of advice would be most welcome.

Update
I’m now down to 15mg and my stomach is still swollen but cause seems to be Serositis. My pleural effusion are 200/300mls left side and zero right side with now minimal around pericardial so steroids are definitely working indicating cause is definitely autoimmune and possibly PMR . I still don’t feel

change of mind from GP on blood in urine and possible UTI.
Messaged via e consult to GP and she has had change of mind prescribing Fosfomycin one sachet for UTI. However then had another message to say that she had decided to also prescribe Nitrofurantoin capsules, (antibiotics ) for one month. Interesting change of mind relating to the blood in urine.

A potential game-changer for CAR T cell therapy: mutations in cancer engineered to beat cancer
CAR T therapy has been successful in some acute blood cancers. Response rates, however, are considerably lower in CLL and solid tumours, with T cell exhaustion and antigen escape being shared issues. A potentially game-changing advance in solid tumour CAR T technology may therefore be relevant to CAR
