quit smoke and sick
Here is my story... I was fine smoking 20 cigs a days approx... Before this happened to me I had drinks two days before and ate out next day in a restaurant... Highly acidic food I would say. The day it happened I had black coffee and smoked two cigs in my wash room and after that begun bath. While

Checking in and update
Hello everyone, hope all is well.. Just wanted to pop on and see what's happening and to offer an update...Anyone that has met me on here - I didn't drop off! So. I still haven'smoked. And I feel pretty good - no real cravings I can't control. They are less frequent but more from memory rather than urge

First Post - Day 2
Good morning :) It's my second day smoke free, yesterday was tough but keeping busy really helped. I'm on day 11 of Champix which seems to help a lot, last Thursday I went most of the day without a cigarette which I put down to the Champix. I've been smoking around 15 a day for about 18 years now and

HELP! Rash
Me again So I am on day 4 of Champix and it is helping me cut down hugely before the big quit on Monday. I am now smoking maybe 5 a day compared with 15-20 last week 😱 However, I have noticed a rash on my hand. Like heat blisters come up in the last hour or so and I am becoming irashtional (see what

I'm new to the site, just saying hi! 11 days quit :)
Hello everyone, well I have finally quit, I have been threatening to for about 2 years :) I was a smoker for 36 years, I smoked roll ups, probably about 25/30 a day. I recently went to the Dr with a few health issues and they did blood tests, it came back that I have too many red blood cells, I was advised

My anxiety is up a few notches because of this nasal congestion
I am a wreck right now, nasal congestion and I'm sure it has to deal with quitting, I am just worried it's COPD or Lung Cancer or something bad (feels like I can't breath) but I think maybe it's because I am focusing on it.... Â Tried seeing if anyone else has this at 5 weeks after quitting, just is miserable

Just thought I'd say hi. X
Still nicotine free and loving it. Post quit weight (68lbs !!!!! 😱) lost and am now fitter and healthier than ever. I retired this year as my back is still giving me problems, I spend my time in the gym and making jewellery using seed beads. Quitting wasn't easy, I had my up's and down's just the same

A sad day indeed
Today I have learned that a beautiful friend has died. This amazing lady dedicated her life to caring for the sick and elderly. She lay with people to comfort them in their last hours and gave herself to the needs of others without thought to herself. Today a beautiful person has been cruelly been taken

Coming off Champix - and advice/feedback
Well this is the longest I have ever managed to stay off nicotine and I'm happy to report easier breathing, concentration at work getting better, clearer skin, no yellow stains on fingers and of course not smelling like an ashtray. My question is I have two weeks left on champix but am starting to

Coughing, wheezing,,need sleep
Hi all, I'm back! So I'm happy to say that I've  been smoke-free for 5 months. However, I still have a big problem though, I continue to cough on & off during the day, but my biggest problem is waking up  @ 3 or 4 am to use the bathroom ,then the endless coughing begins. Soon after the 20 minute coughing

Turning the corner
Hi all. After 3 months of whinging on about my cough I can finally tell you some good news. The background is I finally quit smoking the day I went to A&E very short of breath, 11 weeks ago. I had to wait until antibiotics were well out of my system before I could have spirometry, which was just over

HELP!!!
So it's been awhile and today I'm feeling so bad....all I want to do is go to the shop to get a box of fags and smoke one after the other. Last night I also felt this way but said no I'll get last this. I need ye're advice. My GP took holidays and never wrote me up for a repeat prescription for champix
