Good morning each and every one of you wonderful smoke free people or should that be person? Don't really know to be honest and more importantly is the 'smoke free' part so grammar or whatever it's called can take a running jump today as it's Tuesday and I have the privilege of opening up again! So

Tobacco, has left the Building...
Morning to you all, Well, that's the first 24 hours, and feeling quite okay really. I just had to get tobacco, papers, Lighters etc out of the house/garage/Car. I've been scared to do that. (What if I wake up during the night and I desperately need a ciggie...)? However, I've given it all away

IS IT JUST ME? Serious question and would really, really appreciate any help; advice or answers.
I'm now on day 16 and whilst my brain seems to have accepted the fact that I no longer smoke / do not want to smoke / do not need to smoke, it seems that my body and bodily functions are not in agreement as they refuse to accept that they are no longer going to get regular fixes of nic and other chemicals

And so far, thanks to all of you, I’ve had 15 and each and every one has been so special – just like you all are. Today, I am 85 - erh can’t be I know I feel that age some days but think I had better look again - ahh that explains it – sorry folks, looking in the mirror so it’s the wrong way round

Not really sure what I'm going to write...
... Just kinda staying in touch really. So good to to read other folks generous blogs too. I'm still smoking between two & five roll ups a day just now. I seem to have gone backwards instead of forwards. A bit sad too, as two weeks ago I'd managed to have a full 7 days without any smokes at all. I've

Oh dear...
Yesterday - roll ups = 2, Gill = 0. Therefore not good at all. Off for Chest X-ray today, maybe that might knock some sense into me. I saw an article on here from one of the advisors - it was Very interesting. All about the addiction of Acetaldehyde in tobacco, this too helps keep us addicted seemingly

My life without fags!
Ok......ive been trying to stop smoking on and off for the last 8 years! Ive tried everything from patches to hypnotherapy to acupuncture to champix. Until today I thought I was totally helpless and quite possibly condemmed to a life of smoking and more than likely a life cut short. Ive decided to

Here's hoping .....
Just got in from walking the dogs and the other half has made me a lovely bacon sandwich so eating that while typing this. Another beautiful day, still very cold (actually freezing is a better word) but dry and wonderfully bright. Clouds I saw this morning had a pink not silver lining and if I've managed

Nicotine Addiction ! Interesting article on why it is hard to stop AND why its worth it .
Nicotine tricks your brain by stimulating the reward pathways with a shot of dopamine, the hormone that tells us that things like food and sex are pleasurable. It also increases activity in the cholinergic pathways of the brain. These pathways are concentrated in the brain stem and are believed to be

Advice please
I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and know now that I have to stop smoking before treatment starts. My problem is that my husband smokes and I find it very difficult not to have a cig with him even though I do not enjoy them now. Has anyone been in the same position, how did you cope. thank

I sang in the car today (No 18)
The biggest thing I ever had was a spoon the size of York I had a knife that was larger than life But only had an ordinary fork. The amount of soup, I could shift in one scoop Was on record as being the most Acres of cheese I could spread with such ease But the fork was for baked beans on toast

2 weeks. Serious this time Huh
Well who'd o' thought it. I seem to be OK regarding the habitual aspects like rolling a fag as soon as I get in the car each morning. Having a roll up with my morning break and other key smoking rituals. Oddly enough, none of that is bothering me to much. This I can only assume is because I am still

Giving up Ecigs.
On the 14th. Nov. 2012 I switched from tobacco to Ecigs. Although I've smoked pretty heavily since 1976 I had no problem at all making the switch. I started off with the 26mg nicotine content and within a fortnight was on the 6mg version. I tried the zero nicotine, but they tasted foul! Although

A letter I found , a goodbye to NIC
Written by Leslie Bainbridge and posted on About.com its called Seduction ..and I couldnt have put it better myself ... I was a little intimidated by you, when first we met. You seemed so sophisticated, so cool. And you came with such nifty accessories; in gold and silver, multi-coloured, engraved

'When the Urge to Smoke Hits, Think H.A.L.T.'..an article on About.com
Whilst looking for help on the web I came across this great site About.com. When the Urge to Smoke Hits, Think H.A.L.T. Quitting tobacco is a process. It doesn't happen overnight, but compared to the amount of time most of us spent smoking, recovery from nicotine addiction is relatively short

Happy Wednesday! For all you newest non-smokers, it's middle of the week, almost middle of the month and if you carry on saying no to those cravings you'll be middle way through your first year of being smokefree and much healthier :-) Carry on saying 'middle' over and over again and it sounds such
