2 weeks. Serious this time Huh
Well who'd o' thought it. I seem to be OK regarding the habitual aspects like rolling a fag as soon as I get in the car each morning. Having a roll up with my morning break and other key smoking rituals. Oddly enough, none of that is bothering me to much. This I can only assume is because I am still

Giving up Ecigs.
On the 14th. Nov. 2012 I switched from tobacco to Ecigs. Although I've smoked pretty heavily since 1976 I had no problem at all making the switch. I started off with the 26mg nicotine content and within a fortnight was on the 6mg version. I tried the zero nicotine, but they tasted foul! Although

A letter I found , a goodbye to NIC
Written by Leslie Bainbridge and posted on About.com its called Seduction ..and I couldnt have put it better myself ... I was a little intimidated by you, when first we met. You seemed so sophisticated, so cool. And you came with such nifty accessories; in gold and silver, multi-coloured, engraved

'When the Urge to Smoke Hits, Think H.A.L.T.'..an article on About.com
Whilst looking for help on the web I came across this great site About.com. When the Urge to Smoke Hits, Think H.A.L.T. Quitting tobacco is a process. It doesn't happen overnight, but compared to the amount of time most of us spent smoking, recovery from nicotine addiction is relatively short

Happy Wednesday! For all you newest non-smokers, it's middle of the week, almost middle of the month and if you carry on saying no to those cravings you'll be middle way through your first year of being smokefree and much healthier :-) Carry on saying 'middle' over and over again and it sounds such

So I thought,"I know, I'll abuse my lungs for 44 years and see what happens".
I'll stop in the morning............ I coughed my way through another day Nicotine having it’s filthy way, For every fag smoked, I’m now having to pay. I’ll stop in the morning, I hear my head say. Well, I went down with such a terrible blight Could hardly breathe, try as I

Article in news about e-cigarette
Due to so much interest generated about the use of the e-cigarette, I thought it may be useful if I posted the following article that has recently been in the news. Although this product is still under review, there are quite a few of our members who have already stopped smoking through using one

Good Morning Everybody :-) Today is the first Monday of the year, what will it bring for you I wonder? I hope its plenty of smiles and not very much cravings. Having said that, remember that if you do have cravings then it's a positive sign that your body is recognising that you are not feeding it

Light smoking 'doubles sudden heart death risk in women'
The following article has been published in today's BBC News; Women who are light smokers - including those who smoke just one cigarette a day - double their chance of sudden death, a large study suggests. The research tracked the health of 101,000 US nurses over three decades. Light-to-moderate

3 weeks today
I managed to stop smoking tobacco for 3 weeks now. I started the process by using Champix which does work but did create a lot! of side effects such as really intense dreams, feeling a bit spaced out and an upset tummy. Not nauseous but not working properly. I stopped taking Champix about 3 days

Smoker to Triathlete: My bare all confession
Some of you may remember (back in August) reading the inspirational story of Michael Barnett. Addiction
Well I done my little experiment and have come to the conclusion that I am not addicted to Nicotine, its either all in my mind or I have weaned myself off it in the past 7mnths and it doesnt bother me now. My e-cigs only delivers a small amount of nicotine which is either Vanilla flavour or Watermelon

Champix > Champion
I have stopped smoking tobacco products on Monday 19 Nov 2012. I am on Champix and it feels easy to let go of smoking rollies. It's a bit like the voice in my head that nags to get a smoke has been turned off. I haven't been smoking fags in many years anyway but the ritual of making a rollie is something

If it only takes 24 - 48 hours for nicotine to leave your body, why would I want to use NRT?
When you first stop smoking, it is true that it only takes up to 48 hours for the nicotine to leave your body. So it may seem strange to start using nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and put the nicotine back into your body again. Why would anybody want to do this? Without trying to make it complicated

Do you understand how your smoking may be affecting your pets?
Some of you remember the following blog I posted a few months back now. However, further studies show that your pet dog may be smoking up to 15 cigarettes each day! Please see the following news article for further information; http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/smokers-habits-put-pets-at-risk

Pain in my finger joints.
Before quitting, When the Nic content ran low, a strange twitch developed in my fingers joints, and I had to snap my fingers (or toes). I have quit all forms of Nicotine for a month now and all this time I have a permanent dull pain in all my finger joints (nothing in toes). And the urge to snap fingers
