You guys are awesome!
Hi all and thanks for the kind words and support, it has truly meant a great deal. So, I've been smoke free since Wednesday 4pm (not that I'm counting) and I go through many ups and downs per day. I haven't killed anyone, which is an improvement on last time (kidding), but my teeth itch and my hands

Is Vaping just you still smoking kind of?
Ok Alot of my friends/family have stopped smoking ciggarettes (yay I am so pleased they're not inhaling all those nasty chemicals) but instead have opted to vape. I understand stopping the nicotine addiction is hard and opting to still have nicotine in your system by inhaling it threw vaper seems like

Leonard Nimoy
I was reading about the passing of Leonard Nimoy and it seems he died from COPD. He quit smoking 30 years ago but attributed the disease to his smoking habit. I was surprised that after 30 years this could still happen as all the non smoking advice advises that your lungs do heal after time. I don't

18th day no nicotine at all
HI there, after using NRT in the passed unsuccessfully. i have also tried champix that had horrible side effects for me, I tried "the easyway to stop smoking" by Dr Allen Carr. It's a very good book that actually encourages you to smoke whilst reading the book, unless you have aiready stopped smoking

My final stop
After many many many many tries at stopping smoking I am finally on the track of a final stop. On the 1 October 2014 I joined the non-smoking crew and I haven't had one ciggarette from that date, before everyone bombards me with congratulatory compliments on this massive achievement, I can not take

A Whopping 4 days :-)
Hi all, a small step for man but a huge leap for this 30 a day, 'I love smoking' woman. I spent a while cutting down with an ecig but I'm now a full time vaper (better kit). I don't really have have any intention of ever giving up nicotine as I regard it as hugely beneficial to my health (guts & brain

Kicking e-cigs
Hi all, I'm coming from a different angle to many I feel. I have been smoking only an e-cig for nearly 3 years now. Two Christmases ago (I'd been on e-cig only for a few months) I had a flat battery on my e-cig while out socializing. A friend gave me one of his regular cigarettes. I lit it and took

Newbie and struggling!
Hi all, after smoking 20 (some days more) a day for 35 years I stopped smoking cold turkey on Monday 5th Jan and by Thursday I was climbing the walls. I went out for NRT patches but most places were sold out - I guess everyone was trying to quit at New Year. I managed to get step 2 patches (I think I

hello,
Still around and still keeping going. Another tough week this week, because I have had to cope with first COPD exacerbation. What an idiot I was all those years ago, especially since I always viewed I wouldn't smoke because of living with a father who smoked 80 -100 a day - I still really don't know

Should I go back to smoking?
Hey guys I haven't done a weekly post last week, well lost another 1lb of not smoking which is good I think I'm on my third week but honestly I'm not counting as taking each day as they come, well my dilemma is I recently found out that my mum has cancer, and I'm completely stressed down and don't know

This may be upsetting for some, but is the true reality for many...
Two months before she died of smoking-related lung cancer, Michelle Barthram from Gateshead made this moving plea urging people to quit and be around longer for their loved ones. She was just 48 years old. A brave mum turned health campaigner, who spent the last few months of her life urging people

Happy Days
Hi everyone, I am a bit infrequent on this site these days, but would just like to say to anyone out there that it is soooooo worth stopping smoking! I prefer to say quit or stopped rather than giving up. To me "giving up" insinuates that it was a pleasant pastime, rather than an evil addiction!! I
