Linking what we eat, with depression and brain conditions
Saw an article written in September last year on the site : The best brain possible. This article links diet to depression via the gut - and the 'brain around the gut'. That I thought was interesting. There are dietary tips to pick up from here - and additional information about dopamine and serotonin

How do you approach managing your ADHD?
After being diagnosed a little over two months ago, and trying to figure out how to manage it, I've come up with how I'm approaching this and am curious how others have approached this? Maybe what's worked for you and what hasn't. I know we're all different so there's no "one size fits all" approach

Morphine not working on RLS? Any experience?

Getting ready to try a neurogenesis protocol.
I think I've got the neuroprotection and neurorehab down pretty well. Next up, neurogenesis... Until recently, neuroscientists believed that the central nervous system, including the brain, was incapable of neurogenesis and unable to regenerate. Post DAWS: Pregabalin Augmentation
Hi, All. I found a couple of older threads started by Joolsg inviting comments on some studies that suggested that the risk of augmentation was lower for pregabalin than it was for the dopamine agonists. Given their age--and since there is a slight twist to my story--I've enlarged the Subject to include

RLS or Akathisia or both?
Wow! I just wrote a bunch of stuff but it disappeared. That's my luck with computers. I'll try again. I was diagnosed as having RLS in December '21 but now I think I have akathisia. My neurologist doesn't think so. He says akathisia is rare. I didn't know anything about akathisia until about three

Dopamine agonists and dystonia
Hello everyone, A few years ago I was diagnosed with YOPD and I'm still trying to make sense of my symptoms. I was wondering if anyone has experienced Dopamine Agonists - induced dystonia, is there such a thing at all? Thank you in advance for your comments.

Brain Rewired after Dopamine Agonist-induced Augmentation
Hi, All. There have been a few recent comments by others suggesting that, following their discontinuance of an RLS medication, their RLS symptoms lessened or, in some instances, disappeared. Some comments concerned "patches," and some concerned tablets or capsules. Not all concerned dopamine agonists

Magnesium in Parkinson’s disease: an update in clinical and basic aspects

Your 'teeth and gums' could be CAUSING your PD!
Even though I had the last of my mercury fillings removed a few months ago... and a root canal on another tooth... I know I need additional dental work that I've been putting off... until I read this:
"Two Cases of Parkinson’s Disease for Which Dental Treatment Was Effective"

Restless Leg Syndrome RLS long-term use dopamine agonists results in much worse RLS than before treatment, referred to as RLS augmentation.
I believe RASAGALINE Azilect has given me restless leg syndrome. Has anyone else had this experience? What I have read from various sources is that dopamine agonists are a short term fix for RLS but can make it much worse long term. RLS is associated with low iron and iron supplementation is therefore

Horizant Cost for Those In US
HI, All. Forgive me if this already was covered elsewhere. Briefly, I was prescribed Horizant. At the time of the Rx, the "sleep expert" neurologist noted that it was very expensive and likely not covered by health insurance. The cost of a 30 day supply at my local pharmacy was $450, none of which
