I just had an interesting thought and inquiry about the relationship between specific neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine as a relates to very long chain, fatty acid metabolism, in peroxisomes. Surprisingly, there is a bit of a link, but it’s not clearly understood. My question is,

t3 only treatment need advice
When i got hypo i figured out fast that t4 only only worsend everything. My doc added 10 t3 it was better but not optimal. She put me on 4 Grain NDT and i did well for 2 years. Dyskinesia question
Is peak-dose dyskinesia essentially the same as wearing-off dyskinesia? In other words, are they both just a response to fluctuations in dopamine levels, and whether you experience one or the other (or both?) is just by chance, or is the difference in timing related to other factors? I'm sorry if that's

TTFD - I think I made a judgment error.
My Motion Disorder Specialist indicated that activity consumes dopamine. I have read that one way to increase production of dopamine is exercise. It is not unreasonable to conclude exercise can cause a demand of dopamine higher than your body can produce. I quit TTFD because of tremor (I was walking

Parkinson's wife
My husband was diagnosed about 4 years ago though I suspect Parkinsons was developing long before that. Main problem - neither Sinemet or Madopar has any effect on bradykinesia or tremor (let alone the non motor symptoms)and increasing medication e.g. Neupro patch = rotigotine dopamine agonist only

DAWS success story?
Hi all, After a brutal stop of pramipexole (extended release) two weeks ago, predated by a tapering off Venlafaxine from March to August, I'm experiencing the hell of DAWS (Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal Syndrom). I'm now hospitalized in a neurology service, and they are giving me pregabalin, dypirimadole

FINALLY found a scientific study that supports my theory about Brain Iron and Serum Iron. Finally!!!
First, the relevant quote from the article: “The serum iron concentration was significantly higher in the RLS group than in the control group, but remained within normal ranges in both groups. In this study, there was a significant correlation between serum and CSF iron concentrations, both in the RLS

Duration of dopamine agonist withdrawal symptoms?
I stopped Mirapexin extended release 0.26mg 12 days ago, and my withdrawal symptoms are a nightmare and getting worse and worse. How long should it last? When can I hope to be better ?

Levadopa questions
Maybe someone knows or can point to scientific literature 1) Why should you take levadopa, if you have no tremor? I believe tremor is the main symptom relieved by taking levadopa. 2) Levadopa on average stops being efficient after 5-10 years. Why? This is strange as the brain should still need dopamine

Influence of sunlight on dopamine transporters.
A recent study from the Radboudumc in the Netherlands shows that there is a relationship between sunlight and dopamine production. It seems yet another confirmation of the importance of outdoor activities for people with PD, as I have experienced experimentally myself this summer (and so far), with a
