I stopped Mirapexin extended release 0.26mg 12 days ago, and my withdrawal symptoms are a nightmare and getting worse and worse. How long should it last? When can I hope to be better ?

The usual severe withdrawal lasts 14 days and then slowly improves. You chose cold turkey, which is brutal.

However, things should start to settle with each day. It can take several weeks or months and most people need replacement meds or iron infusions to settle the withdrawals.

Make sure your serum ferritin is above 100, preferably 200 as that will help settle RLS. Also replace trigger meds like anti depressants and anti histamines with safe alternatives.

You may need replacement meds if raising serum ferritin doesn't help.

Pregabalin or a low dose opioid are the usual next meds.

If you stopped cold turkey ( at one go) then you will experience bad symptoms. For a long time. Possibly months.

Thank you for your answer and your kind words 🙏 May I ask you which DA you were on, and on which dose? And did you move to another RLS treatment? Sorry for bothering you with all these questions…

I have been weaning myself off Pramipexole, going from the same dose, 1 pill per week . When it went worse I did only half a pill of 0,125. My dr prescribed Pregabaline which controls the symptoms pretty well. My iron is also on a good level and I often take THC oil before bed. With all that I have had just 3 night which were not very good and for the rest I sleep like a baby. Now completely off Prami.

I took Buprenorfin. And had no withdrawal.

Google says that Delta 8 is legal and available in Belgium. I would recommend that. Delta 8 is a combination of THC and CBN. Used at night, it helps you sleep and has some use as a pain reliever. It won't make you high, but it's best to start at the lowest dose to see how you react. Tolerance will develop over time, but it will help get you through this difficult period. Unless your doctors are more open-minded than ours in the US, they won't prescribe an opioid. Google Delta 8 and find out where you can buy it.
