I owe you an update
Many thanks to the members of this forum. FYI, I was diagnosed with a DRE last October, 2023. I had a biopsy in November and confirmed an aggressive stage 5, Gleason 9 in 6 of 12 cores prostate cancer. A series of scans did not detect involvement beyond the prostate. My PSA was 9 at that time. I began

Cannot stand the heat
I am currently on methotrexate, folic acid and leflunomide for my PSA and have recently had my leflunomide upped as it wasnt doing anything. I know the UK is incredibly muggy right now because of our awful weather but I was wondering if any of these meds make it to a point where the heat affects us

Some good news yesterday
I’m 66, dealing with PCa for 6 years, have had surgery and radiation 2x. Things were quiet for a year and a half. After a rapid rise in psa this spring, the docs at Duke put me on Lupron and Xtandi. The three month check up shows t level is down to 18, psa is 0.23, a decline of 96.5%. Thank God and

not randomized, but still a very interesting study that wants to check the relation between PSA decline and quantity of exercise per week in men with localized prostate cancer https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaoncology/article-abstract/2821207

Cancer Turned Aggressive?
My dad has been battling prostate cancer for 15+ years . He goes to University of Chicago. He is 74. Early 2000’s- prostate removed - not clean margins. Did no further treatment 2004 - Cancer came back. Only seen on PSA test. Watched for years until PSA finally doubled. 2007-2008- went on Lupron

diarrhea flares ?
My dad had radiation that ended in January. Currently on Lupron. Had his last shot July 7th and his PSA was .02. He had a lot of issues post radiation, with diarrhea and gas, but that subsided and he has been good for a while. All the sudden these symptoms are happening again. When he had his last Lupron

trelstar
hi warriors. I have been on trelstar for 8 years and was wondering if anyone else has been on it. I have been undetectable at <.006 and now my psa is rising to .014. Maybe trelstar is losing its touch. Anyway I am doing a psma tomorrow. Had a pet ct last week that didn’t light up so I know the psma probably

Is this decision right for me
I had a PSMA pet scan on 7/16/2024. The result shows a single tumor in my left lung measuring 8mm. My MO wants me to have the tumor radiated and monitor the PSA and its doubling time. A little background, I'm just short of 83 years old. I had prostatectomy in 2009, PSA undetectable until 2017. I had

Just and update
Thought I'd update...many of you are familiar with my clinical history (attached). In April, I met with my radiologist and oncologist, we agreed to come off Orgovyx after 12 months plus SBRT to a single PLN node identified in a March 2023 scan. My oncologist favored six more months, well, pretty sure

Erectile dysfunction meds and side effects
My husband is getting brachytherapy in September and then IG IMRT in October. He is currently on Orgovyx for month two and will be adding zytega next month. Good news is that his PSA has gone to 2 and Testosterone to 9 after a month on Firmagon so meds seem to be doing what are supposed to. Drs have

My MSK Precise / SBRT Journey -- 2.5 Years Post-Treatment
I completed SBRT treatment for Gleason 7 (3+4) PCa at MSKCC in NYC in November 2021. My PSA was 8.7 right before the treatment. My doctor: Dr. Michael Zelefsky. Since that time: -- My PSA as of May 2024 is 1.32. -- I've had no real urinary issues since treatment except for some bouts of urgency especially
