PSA going up. Next on the agenda.
My PSA has been going up steadily for a couple of years. In Jan. of this year it was 0.052 and now is 0.25. It went up 25% in the last month. I am on Lupron and Abi. Seems like they are failing. I know, it is still low, but I am looking at my next options. I am not one to prolong life at any cost. I

ADT and Increased Blood Sugar
Prior to my diagnosis, my morning blood sugar levels were just on the cusp of normal ranging from 99 to 120 each morning. My primary care physician prescribed Metformin, which seemed to reduce or maintain these levels. I have been taking Orgovyx since 9/23 and expect to complete the regimine in early

Rise in PSA
Hello everyone, I am 72 and have been on active surveillance for prostate cancer since I was diagnosed in August 2021 but probably had it prior to my first MRI in 2020. I have had 2 biopsies and 5 MRI's and countless PSA tests. The first bx showed 3 cores at 3+3 and 2 cores suspicious, confirmatory bx

Dexa scan
Well, that was refreshing. I have just had a repeat dexa scan, and the radiographer took the time to question me about PMR and PsA. When I told her I had managed to reduce to 5mgs of pred, she said' Slowly, slowly now then, at that level don't reduce by more than 1/2 mg ' I was amazed she had more understanding

prostate cancer that does not produce psa
Hi everyone. My dad’s PSA has always been low, so when he was diagnosed, we were very shocked. His team checks his PSA, although PSMA have been more telling for him. His PSA today is the highest it has ever been at 17. His last PSMA was better than the one before. Is it possible for prostate cancer

Stopping Lupron?
I have been on Lupron and Xtandi for 2 years and 4 months. My lupron injections are for 3 months, and with insurance it is costing me about $1,300 per injection OOP due to my $8,700 total TOOP. I'm thinking about stopping Lupron, it's such a beat down and it's made life very difficult. The fatigue alone

Orgovyx: Check, Barrigel: Check, Next Up: Ray-Gunz!
After 16 weeks on Orgovyx (relugovix) my PSA: 0.71 (from 16.5) and my Testosterone: 25-ng/dl (from I don't know what. Normal T is 250-800 I'm told.) I want to pass on that I've been able to greatly diminish some SEs from the drug. I now take the pill in the evening vs morning, at approx. 9 to 10 pm.

Dramatic change to palliative from treatable after 6 and a half years
Back at the start of the yhis year my PSA continued to rise: 670 > 900 > 1167> 1600 so we stopped the trial. I was anaemic and had low haemaglobin. I felt awful, weak, nautious and had 4 days in hospital for pain management. I hadn't had this before the trial but they said I have a fractured 4th lumbar

rising PSA
My PSA started rising after 6 years of being undetectable. July 2023 , PSA 0.10 and July 2024 PSA 0.70 . I had a PSMA pet scan when my PSA hit 0.30 in November 2023 , scan did not show any cancer. I have another PSA test scheduled for early October; my doctor wants to wait until my PSA hits 1 before

Leflunamide
Good morning, I've been diagnosed with PsA and been on mtx 15mg injections for 8 months. No noticeable change. Rheumy wants me to try leflunamide now but I'm not happy as I have stomach problems due to a burst stomach ulcer so need to be careful. Anyone have experience of this drug and if so was

PSMA PET Scan results
For those that asked, we received my dad's PSMA PET Scan results (full resultsin bio). We were devastated to see some bone metastasis was uncovered but knew this was likely due to his high PSA score (150) and Gleason score of 9. If anyone could provide any advice and or encouragement, that would be much

Zanda after Zytiga
Orgovyx and Zytiga brought my Gleason 9 cancer to a PSA of 0.67, but after 5 months my PSA has slowly risen to 1.59. Would it help to switch from Zytiga to Zanda? Poollover

Brand new here. Whopping high first PSA test
I see Urology tomorrow. I'm 68 and had my first PSA test ever last week. The result was 33 ng/ml and my family practice MD was alarmed and referred me right away. For the past 2 yrs I've been taking Flomax, 1 at night, to help with frequent urination at night. It also has helped with starting/stopping

Next treatment?
We just left the Oncologist office and not good news. PSA is still climbing. It went from 64 to 74 in 6 weeks. Hubby has been through XTANDI, Chemo, targeted radiation, RADIUM 223. Been on Eligard for 7 years. Oncologist would like him to go in a clinical trial at Princess Margaret hospital in Toronto

psma findings
Haven’t heard from my Mo but I just opened the psma report and I don’t have any finding of metastasis. So I guess I run another psa? Monitor I guess? Anyway I’m happy for sure. I guess we will stay on top of it with psma and psas. Surprised my mo hasn’t called yet lol. She last said she was intrigued

What's typical PSA drop over time after SBRT?
Hi All, I'm 10 months post SBRT w/o ADT (on a study that randomized me for no ADT with low Decipher score), so wondering if anyone has any info on what I would expect for PSA percentage drop over time? A year ago my PSA was 11.0 and this past week, I'm at 5.3. I'm happy that it is less than half what

Finding consensus on treatment and side effects
As per earlier posts I’m 72 yrs old with Stage 4 Gleason 9 with some spread outside of prostate. I started ADT treatment in April and finished 4 weeks of radiation therapy on July 5. Statistically I think I’m doing well. My PSA went from 8.4 to .012 in two months. Until recently I had really no side

intermittent ADT+Abiraterone
Six months ago I ended a 12 month holiday from my ADT + abiraterone. (In this post, I’m not asking for evaluations of the advisability of intermittency.) In making the decision to do the intermittency, my MO, among other things, said that the fact that I was on abiraterone was a positive factor for

Cardiac surgery meds bring PSA down?
My PSA was 1.6 on January 8 of this year. On January 31st I had successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart valve. On March 7th, my next blood test, my PSA had dropped to .5. Has anyone here heard that this sort of drop after surgery is normal? Perhaps there are meds used at that time that could
