I owe you an update

Many thanks to the members of this forum. FYI, I was diagnosed with a DRE last October, 2023. I had a biopsy in November and confirmed an aggressive stage 5, Gleason 9 in 6 of 12 cores prostate cancer. A series of scans did not detect involvement beyond the prostate. My PSA was 9 at that time.

I began ADT with Orgovyx in February, 2024. My PSA was 0.9 by late April. I had five high-dose SBRT treatments in April 29 to May 9. My Medical Oncologist reviewed my results in June and gave me a status of remission on June 7. This was a good birthday present for my 85th year of life on June 10.

Color me skeptical. The various scans do not detect mets below 5 mm in diameter. My urologist and MO both claim the chances are low that they exist. Even though my PSA is 0.2 on July 10 and my testosterone is 4, and I am healthy, the thought of treating metastatic occurrences is daunting due to my age. We will see.

In the meantime, I am celebrating my new life extension by returning to my roots with a revised persona. I am going cowboy. I worked on a ranch years ago, but hustled mostly bales of hay and few cows. However, cowboy sounds better than bale-boy. I have been bucked off horses, but stay closer to the ground these days. I have too much to do with my writing of adventure novels, playing music in public, caring for my wife and dog, and grandfathering my grandchildren, to worry about my remaining five years or so.

You in this group have helped me immensely. I have tried to bring optimism to others in return. God and the Great Spirit protect us all.

IMO, you're doing great! Living life and being alive. It sounds great that you're revisiting an old 'job' of your youth. That would be invigorating. Best to you!

To the W_T_W Brand.

You may have had the misfortune of being bucked off of some horses, but I have had the experience and misfortune of being bucked off of of some women. YIPPEE YI YAAA...

In your closing "argument" you mentioned "my remaining five years or so". No one but no one knows when, where or how they'll be bucked out of the bunkhouse and up to the hill with the boot hanging over the gate entrance.

So Cowman, as you posted it's time to leave life's horseshit in the barn and to enjoy the happy trails ahead of you.

BTW Never mess with Hoppy.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
