PSA Test
Hello everybody Where can I find good information about the readings on PSA tests. As I have posted earlier, my husband had the prostate removed, developed a rezidiv after 5 years, was treated with Proton (based on Hydrogen) radiation in Heidelberg January this year. PSA went down from 0,8 to 0,3.

Go-forward Treatment Plan
First of all, I've been an avid reader of this forum over the past 2 years, and wanted to express my gratitude towards the amount of knowledge everyone has been sharing on this site. My father (62 y.o., very healthy) was diagnosed with aggressive PCa (Gleason 9, PSA 58) in Sep 2021, and underwent RALP

PSA 9 , age 66 , is there an alternative to biopsy ?
My friend’s PSA went from 5 to 9 in 8 months . He asked me if there is an alternative to biopsy . I told him that there may be something new since I last had a biopsy in 2009.

Delayed Lynparza (Olaparib)Reaction
I started Lynparza (Olaparib) on 5/19 (PSA 172). By 7/5 (+7 weeks ) my PSA was 222 and it was decided to discontinue the drug, get a port, and prepare for chemo. At the first chemo appt on 8/10 (+12 weeks), the blood test showed that my PSA had fallen to 194. The general literature says you evaluate

ED & zero libido
Three years on from diagnosis and nearly three year of no sexual function. A big loss between my wife and I thought we don’t really talk about it. My GP prescribes viagra but without the desire, little effect. Also given a pump but something makes me resistant to try it. Having said all this I have

I wonder if anyone knows why or has experienced a rise on PSA level (from 70 to 274), 6 months after radiation therapy (VMAT x 26 sessions)?
Before and after radiation therapy, dad was taking Bicalutamide 50 mg and Alfuzosin50 mg together with a quarterly Leuprorelin injection. This month (October), after receiving his Leuprorelin injection, Urologist advised to stop taking Bicalutamide as it is no longer effective due to hormone resistance

Use of CDB 10 mg pills
I am currently on 12 mg prednisone and 20 mg methotrexate a week for PsA and maybe PMR. I have heard that taking CDB can help with relaxing, sleeping and general feeling down due to the way this illness makes you feel. Is this safe?

Just joined the club no one wants to be a member of in April 2023 - can Gleason 9 be cured ?
Doc says that our goal is a cure despite the fact that I am a Gleason 9 with Decipher score of 1 , the highest for metatastic spread. (PSMA PET was negative.) The highest my PSA has ever been was 5.48 in December 2022 and it dropped to .09 with Testosterone of 14 in August two months after a shot of

Psa doubled in less than a month
I had 10 infusions of Doxytaxel. I started reading about the consequences of CDK12 and was concerned that since I have this mutation doxy was not a treatment of choice. After giving time for the PSA to settle I had a test which showed that it doubled in close to 3 months. In preparation for a CT and

Just had My Monthly Injection of Firmagon Monthly Labs PSA is Up <0.06 to 0.09
That’s pretty modest. I’m assuming I will wait till next month to see if it goes down. Kind of stressed with this new diverticulitis and blood bowel thing AND Moving. Got results of psa after I saw My Medical Oncologist so haven’t discussed modest jump. Even with bleeding from rectum the gastroenterologist

I got some doubts about the know-how of my oncologist
I met with my oncologist last Friday and either I am confused or she is. I am open for both scenario. :) This post is sort of a follow-up on another I did back in August: https://healthunlocked.com/advanced-prostate-cancer/posts/149892314/need-help-in-understanding-psa-level-recurrence-after-treatment

Prostate cancer but normal PSA?
HI All. I had my first ever PSA at the age of 62 and it came in at over 26. I took a repeat and it came in at 25, then a week later I took another and it was 29. I had a biopsy that came back positive (cancer in 11 of 12 samples) and even though both my CT and bone. However, they indicated that since

SBRT alternative
So I've been trying to decide on what treatment I wanted to do and finally decided that I'd go with SBRT. Well unfortunately the MRIdian SBRT is going away at the end of the month. I reached out to Dr. Kishan to verify and this was the response "Unfortunately that is likely correct. We will be doing

1st PSA Post SBRT + ADT: A Bounce?
I had a diagnosis of Gleason 3+4, probable ECE; Decipher .63. Received 5 Fraction SBRT at MSKCC (Dr. Zelefsky) in early January of this year. 6 months of ADT (Orgovyx) ended May 23, 2023. At the end of ADT, my PSA was <0.05 and Testosterone was 4. My first PSA Test was last Wednesday at Penn Medicine
