Getting too skinny- follow up
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and replies. I’m looking for a new GP and will follow up when I find one. I have an appointment with my rheumy in a week and will discuss the weight loss with her. I will get my thyroid checked. There’s also the option of a consultation with a dietician

Reducing saturated fat intake may delay progression in men with MYC amplification
This was only a mouse study, but they also looked at animal fat/saturated fat intake of metastatic men treated at some top institutions. They found an association between dietary saturated fat intake and PC lethality in men with metastatic disease who had a specific kind of tumor mutation called MYC

Fatty liver/IBS diet
I am so frustrated. I am trying to find the right diet to lose weight manage my fatty liver and IBS. I was on an extreme low carb diet and had my liver enzymes normal after my diagnosis. Then about 10 months later I developed IBS. I am having a terrible time trying to manage both. Any suggestions

Hello again. Well, I paid to see the endo today and what people said would happen did happen. He was fixated on numbers as usual and didn't really listen to symptoms. The first words were, 'Why do you think you need an endocrinologist' . Well, that sort of opening line always throws me, why is it

Welcome to our friendly, active, rapidly-growing forum. There is now quite a bit of information available on the internet - and I try to "guide you through the maze." Newbies: Which Fasting strategy should I use?
Once you have transitioned into "fat-burning mode", you might widen your fasting window until you are fasting 16 hours a day and eating in an eight-hour window - This is known as Intermittent Fasting 16:8. You can (gradually) widen your fasting window to 18:6 or 20:4. I have been fasting 20:4 for over

Is what food you eat really that important?
I personally know veggies, vegans and omnivores and don't see that much difference in how healthy they are, or their life expectancy/quality. Esselsytn recommends whole plant based diet with no oil, others, ultra low carb, full fat and both these opposits seem to work. My thoughts are the 3 demons:-

Opicapone
My husband was given Opicapone about 18 months ago but stopped taking it for some reason. He started taking it again just over a month ago. He found immediate improvement with it eg. not having to go to the toilet so often during the night but he is finding it difficult to get the correct dose. It does

Treating Itp with Herbal Supplements
Hi! I'm a newbie here! I came aboard to find a natural way to treat Itp. Since Prednisone isn't cutting it. Dexamethasone and Eltrombopag also didn't take. The Doctor's want to try rituximab next and I'm a little bit leary of that one. Then of course, if that doesn't work, they'll want to take my spleen

Going out on a limb here but how many people have done a low fat diet for example Slimming World and later have been diagnosed with a Thyroid problem. Only asking as a few women I know who have thyroid problems have also done said diet, is there a link?

Does DBS control non motor problems, like sleep?
I’ve been diagnosed six years now (I’m 76). Three years in, my neurologist suggested DBS so I spoke to a neurosurgeon who has done many of these procedures. He said DBS works on “motor symptoms only.” Since medicine works for me, I did not go ahead. Recently I spoke to a friend in biotech who

Saw my neuro today... I'v been taking c/l and requip. Doc said with the amount of c/l I'm currently on 250mg 6 times a day and only getting 60-90 min of relief and my age (57) I would be the perfect candidate for DBS surgery which might grant me 10-15 years of a better quality of life.
