PMR & PRE DIABETIC
Hi, I was diagnosed with PMR in April this year and started off on 15mg Prednisolone and have so far managed to taper down to 10mg. I have now been told that I am pre-diabetic (thanks steroids 😡😡) and am just interested in knowing what people eat for snacks/treats or are we just expected to give

Adalimumab And lumps in neck
Morning, Just wondering if anyone has suffered with any sore throats and lumps on neck since taking Adalimumab? I have recently had a CT scan waiting for results, but the waiting is eating me up.. should I be worried?

From EHA June 2022. Treating hypertension in patients receiving BTK inhibitors
My own Ibrutinib induced hypertension has been tricky to treat and Losartan, which did suit me, had to be stopped as it was contraindicated. Now on Amlopidine and it's not effective at all so going back to Losartan now that I'm off Ibrutinib. Interesting in that he says that more than one class of

Diuretics and A fib.
Given the importance of hydration with A fib, I would appreciate the member's thoughts on the wisdom of the use of a diuretic in AFib sufferers. Thank you.

Carb free week...no loss
I'm staying positive about this. Its my 1st week of low carbs and have really tried but despite feeling a little better and not as sluggish I'm the same weight...stick with it and invest in some digital scales (I have the doctors style scales)..ps...not made my bread yet, had my psyllium husk delivered

Diuretics - dandelion good, coffee bad, what's that about?
I have had swollen ankles since starting on Levothyroxine. Some of the threads about swollen ankles suggest using dandelion tea as a diuretic. On the other hand we are not supposed to drink coffee because it is diuretic and we need to stay hydrated. Can anyone explain why one is okay and the other

diabetic macular oedema and prednisolone
I have been to the eye clinic today. I am type 2 diabetic (in remission for 4 years) and have diabetic macular oedema. I have had PMR for 5 years and down to 7mg of prednisolone. My opthamologist said my diabetes is not helping my eyes and I told her that I control it well but the prednisolone does

How to Lower blood sugar
Dear All, I have been going through many post of suggestion by all and sundry in Face Book & you tube. The suggestions are not that so grate and equally highly priced too. Now after going through these contents, I found one. That is THENKANI/SKY FRUIT SEEDS. A google scroll will give you the benefits

Weight loss vs diabetes
In a bit of a quandary ... I have to watch carbs & sugar to avoid pred-induced diabetes. At the same time, I'm also worried about losing too much weight. I've lost about 40 lbs. recently, and am not totally sure it's all due to diet. Is there a good way to add a few pounds without upping my carbs

Has anyone cracked the code? How to loose weight??
Still trying to get things under control.. But how DO we loose weight as Hypothyroid? - Should we stay away from certain types of exercise? (Cardio, weights, HIIT, walking, etc?) - Many said Keto may not be great… is low carb ok? On Keto I would stay within 30-40g of carbs a day which is more low carb

Diuretic and nasal sprays
Since I had Covid I have had pressure in my ears, like I have to pop my ears every 30 seconds to a minute, anyway my question is my Dr wants me to try a diuretic to dry up any fluid in my ears and he also wants me to use a nasal spray like a sudafed type spray? What do any of you know about these types

Zoe - Personalized Food Mapping App
Which eating plan should you adopt? The Liver Diet, The Atkins, The Low Carb high Fat, The FODMAP?? Do any of them work? This question has bugged me for the last 40 years so I bit the bullet and signed up to the Zoe App and testing regime and although I am still waiting for results, quite interesting

Cutting carbs and weightloss
Ok so I've heard that lowering carbs or going keto can help with weightloss, and I keep an eye on the amount I have (and I avoid all processed carbs), but I didn't know if it really made a difference or not. Until today.. Basically, my mum who's in her 70s and overweight, was told 2 weeks ago, that

Co Enzyme Q10 & Alpha Lipoic Acid : good anti oxidants or not helpful bad ideas? Do they extend Healthspan or reduce inflammation?
I take both. I just ordered more regrettably as I’m now reconsidering the evidence behind both. I know many others on HU take them as well. What is the science to explain why? My reason for taking ALA is a lame one. Dr. David Sinclair does. But as I look in to this more I think that maybe neither
