Sugar in urine but not GD?
So I had two GTT tests that were normal at 28 weeks, after which I had a +2 in my urine so I had another GTT test at 32 weeks which was also normal. I then had a trace on the next check then again a +2, then a normal reading. However they still wanted to check so now Iām doing 4x daily blood prick tests

Insulin resistance & Fibro
Hi everyone. Did anyone have heard about connection between insulin resistance and fibromyalgia? This leads to the next question: did anyone tried a low carbohydrate diet and seen an improvement in their fibro pains? Thanks š

DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE TAKING METFORMIN AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE
I AM A 66-year old female who was in top condition 18 months ago. It was a year before I received the PMR diagnosis and it's been 12 weeks since I've been on prednisone. I've tried to have a good attitude about the pred and to throw all my energy into my health and minimizing its side effects. I've

Low Carb really works for me
May 3 rd this year was my moment of truth when I knew I had to do something about two years of pred use weight gain. After two weeks of thinking I was low carb, the scale had not changed! Discouraged I sought the forumās help and was alerted to the existence of carbs in many hidden places. It is true

Blood pressure meds
I was previously put on triamterene with a diuretic when I started having kidney Grf issues. So I asked my doctor to put me on Lisinopril. It seems to protect the kidneys. My blood pressure this morning was 141/80. It has been fluctuating from 134/70 etc. while I am afraid to switch I wonder if this

Newbie looking for reassurance after heart failure clarification
Recently and quite randomly diagnosed with heart failure, I had an echocardiogram on 7th March. Have been waiting for result as I know there can be several causes. The letter came today: āLeft and right ventricles normal in size and function. Ejection fraction 57%ā. (So far, so good?) āHowever, there

Personalised Vitamin Plans (radio)
Just a quick alert to the devious vitamin sales people! I'm sure many here are all too well aware of schemes like these. However, the end result seems to suggest just taking a multivitamin. And we know that there is a strong (and evidenced) view that multivitamins are not ideal. Issues like combinations
