Sharing for info but also a question around changes to formulation. I’ve recently had my T3 increased which meant moving to Thybon Henning 20s. Since I’m allergic to acacia, I set about trying to find out if it contained it. I spoke to 2 pharmacies (SmartWay and Roseseway Labs) as well as doing my

diuretics and dehydration in hot weather
Do people still take their diuretics when it’s really hot? One of my friends queried it with me, saying it’s important to be hydrated, especially if you have heart issues and it’s hot so why take a diuretic. I’m still taking mine (10mg Dapaglifloxin and 80mg of furosemide) and working hard on drinking

HbA1C - New guidelines
New guidelines / study of American Diabetic Association says that HbA1C level up to 8 are acceptable and there is no need to be heroic in reducing it. Because in the process of reducing HbA1C, if there are events of hypoglycemia, then the effects are much worse than to maintain the HbA1C below 8. Please

The Zoe programme and diabetes
Following on from the recent post about the Zoe programme. I saw my daughter yesterday and she can't eat sweet things because she has pre-diabetes. She's 60. My husband at the age of about 56 was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. His sugar level was very high. He dieted, lost about 4 stone in weight

If diabetic food order matters. First protein, then wait 10 minutes, and you can have carbs.

A question about ashwagandha?
I was looking up this herb for interactions on the pharmacuetical database I subscribe to and read the following. I am concerned about any herb that could suppress dopamine, does the statement below mean that dopamine is also reduced which is not good effect for PD? I know many folks with and without

Berberine Update 2022-06-26
EDIT March 17, 2024:
Today somebody shared a link to a two year old post of mine about a report on Berberine being neurotoxic and taking it off of my stack. Within a few months I found other information on Berberine and, using my High School educated brain, decided that Berberine definitely needed

Metformin
I have been on pred for almost three years and am currently at 7 mg. I have just been put on Metformin as my A1C is at 8.2. I’m having problems adjusting to the Metformin (high stomach acid and pains) Anyone else out there have similar issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am from India aged 51 yrs. I got my CABG done for single artery (LAD) 6 months back. Post surgery I developed breathlessness and could not walk out for two months. Though i consulted many doctors only one doctor gave me diuretic Torasemide 5mg and that helped me to walk as my breathlessness improved
