Does anyone have any insight on how or if V +O treatment affects insulin sensitivity?

My husband is on V+O treatment, on cycle 7, he also is type 2 diabetic. Ever since starting treatment, he has had to add fast-acting insulin after meals to his regimen. We attributed this to the steroids given during O infusions, but those are now in the past, and he is not able to reduce his A1C and insulin requirements. Does anyone have any data regarding the effects of this treatment on Type 2 Diabetes? Thanks so much!!!

I was own V&O as well with a strong reaction to the initial 100mg dose of O that sent me to the ER. I restarted the O 6 weeks later with high dosages of steroids both as a pre-med to the infusion and in the IV for approximately half of the O infusions causing my morning blood glucose to go into the high 400's. My PCP put me on Tresiba which took 11 months to bring my blood glucose / A1C down to an acceptable level where I could discontinue the insulin.

What do those meals consist of? If the meals elevate blood glucose levels you should look into a keto diet. I'm not saying this is the solution for your situation but it is worth a good look.
