Is Intermittent Fasting really Help in Weight Lose?
Hi Folks, Recently I read an article about how intermittent fasting can help in losing weight on a website called The Health Journal, the article was well explanatory but my question is does anybody else tried it, and did they get any results?

Statins & Steroids
I’ve been advised to take statins due to high cholesterol levels of 7.0, Serum triglycerides 2.3, HDL 2.5, HDL ratio 2.8, LDL 3.4, non HDL 4.5. I’m reluctant to take more meds but I’m unclear of the meaning of all the results and if I should take statins or not. I’ve read some articles stating that

Tattoo
I would really love another tattoo but I'm not sure if it would be safe. Does anybody know if it would be OK? I should add that I have NAFLD as well as insulin dependent diabetes.

Questions related to planned c-section.
So far I am not at any high risk pregnancy, my baby size is normal, blood pressure is normal, my gestational
diabetes
level is under control with the
diet
. Everything looks fine except my age (I will be an older mum). My doctor told me that the c-section will possibly on 39weeks.

W6R1 completed.
Slowly getting back into running after a few challenging years of a niggling old back injury, new 3 disc neck injury and a nice dose of covid. Week 4 I did twice as I felt I wasn’t progressing enough. Now have just completed W6 R1 the other day and R2 later today. Have used this app before with mixed

Update - partner in ICU with ARLD
For those of you who were kind enough to follow and comment on my recent posts, I have to sadly tell you that my 43 year old partner and father of our 10 month old passed away from multiple organ failure caused by decompenstaed ARLD on Saturday. He was so sick the Royal Free wouldn’t move him to their

Herbal supplements for bronchiectasis
Would anyone have any knowledge or views on taking cardamom for lung health. I’m currently soaking 3 pods in warm water a day then squeezing out the seeds and drinking it as have heard this is an ancient herbal remedy to kill bacteria and help with inflammation. I also take echinacea daily but am wondering

Raised Creatinine in urine
Hello everyone I was diagnosed with PMR in January and am now down to 4.5mg prednisolone. Having piled on the pounds at first I have been on a low carb diet since March. I do eat quite a bit of meat and a recent urine dip stick test showed raised creatinine. Could this be caused by high protein/low carb

PMR update, flare, cholesterol, pre diabetes, neck, DEXA etc
I am back in the pre
diabetes
zone, as I lapsed with my
diet
a bit at the end of the year and put some weight on. And I am just out of range for cholesterol, the note says that I need treatment for that.

A catch up and regroup.
Hello lovely people, I was just recounting and filling in the time I've been away from this site - the absence due to my grandmothers passing - and it was becoming a bit of a novel, recounting the day to day details of the hospital etc so have decided to not post it as it may be triggering for others

Recommendations for a good selenium supplement?
That's not expensive? Selenomethionine is the type I'm after. I currently take Viridian which is around £8/9 for 30 capsules. It doesn't last long as I take 2 capsules daily. Previously I used solgar but I didn't feel it was as effective. There's so many different supplement sellers on Amazon now

PMR/GCA Weight Loss
Morning everyone, I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy New Year. Question: Has anyone gained weight once they first started on Pred (I did, but not too much) but then started to lose it ? Since the beginning of Nov this year I've been steadily losing it. Today I weigh

Advice needed ref statins
Hello all I have had PMR since May 2020, initially on 15mg pred and tapered down to 4mg by April 2022. Then got Covid and everything went a bit scatty. Returned to 10mg and have been tapering, currently on 7mg moving towards 6.5mg. In the meantime my blood pressure has risen and recent blood tests

Update on my Pace and Ablate
Last Friday I went for the ablation of my sinus node in great trepidation but I needn't have worried as it all went like clockwork. The sedation was wonderful and I was back on the ward within an hour and home in time for tea! The first couple of days were a bit uncomfortable and I dropped off the

Gallstones Newbie here seeking menu ideas 😁
My GP diagnosed gallstones 4 weeks ago after I suffered an attack and referred me for a scan at my local hospital for confirmation. She told me to go to A&E if the attacks get unbearable. I am yet to heard from the hospital with a date for the scan. I'm getting 3 or 4 attacks a week. Shoulder blade
