Why Does High Dose Thiamine Work?
I like to keep challenging the items in my stack. HDT is in my stack. I believe in HDT. But why? So far I trust HDT because of the results from Dr Constantini and the testimonials. Time to look for some science: Neurological, Psychiatric, and Biochemical Aspects of Thiamine Deficiency in Children

Peripheral neuropathy and Zytiga
After ten months Zytiga has failed me and my PSA doubling time is about two months. I am switching to Xtandi. For At least four months I have had paraesthesias on the balls of my feet. The paraesthesias are most notable when I get out of bed and touch the tile floor at night. They feel like there

Feeling of skipped beats, primarily when lying down at night is happening more frequently lately? (post ablation for SVT 6 years prior)
Hi everyone (new here!)- I had Superventricular Tachycardia (PSVT) diagnosed late teens , with no instances of fast arrythmia since my 3rd and final ablation around 6 years ago. There have been a couple of times since then I've felt maybe a run of a couple of fast beats like it is trying to get into

Gestational diabetes test at 36wks
Just had a phonecall from midwife requesting i go for a glucose blood test due to my BMI being 31. I haven't been weighed since 24wks but all my fundal height measurements have been big and no concern shown or growth scans organised. I am not anxious and worried that If i have GD and its only just

Refined sugars - reduce them for your health
Good idea to review one's relationship with sugar. To reduce it. Physiologist and nutritionist John Yudkin wrote a book, 'Pure, white and deadly' in 1972. He was shunned by medical communities. Shame. Sugar's highly addictive. Inflammatory. Wreaks havoc on insulin response. And impacts mood. Of course

How can I best use my CGM
I have acquired a continuous glucose monitor, a CGM. It will tell me my blood glucose every minute or so for 14 days, if I don't knock it off my arm 2 days after I start using it. I am very clumsy, so I may do that. Anyway, I thought I might crowd source the best way to use this device to learn how

Eating Fruits when you have Diabetes
I came across a very recent article on "How many servings of fruits a day can lower risk of type 2 diabetes?" written by Lakshita Jain, certified clinical dietician and a lecturer. The link is given at the bottom of the post. While it was in my mind to make an exclusive post on fruits, but this article

Tom's heart attack was five months ago. Totally out of the blue, he staggered in clutching his chest - within a few minutes my 73 year old husband was being attended to by paramedics and immediately rushed to Glenfield Hospital in Leicester for four stents and a lifetime of medication. The NHS and team

Glucose, Glucose-Fructose, Dextrose - WTF????
So, this is an ongoing (albeit internal) debate for me on the safety of glucose, glucose-fructose and
dextrose
. I asked this question of our 'friends' at Coeliac UK and was told, by food labelling law, if the
dextrose
, etc., was derived from a wheat source it would have to be labelled thus.

Need info on weight gain and PD
I am learning about different dialysis methods. My nephrologist is leaning toward PD when the time comes. However, I am hearing that PD can put on weight very easily. How do people deal with that? And how, if your diabetic, do you deal with the glucose solution?
