Peripheral neuropathy and Zytiga

After ten months Zytiga has failed me and my PSA doubling time is about two months. I am switching to Xtandi.

For At least four months I have had paraesthesias on the balls of my feet. The paraesthesias are most notable when I get out of bed and touch the tile floor at night. They feel like there is a thick layer of dead skin between my receptors or sometimes the experience is similar to that which occurs when local anaestesia is wearing off.

They have been along way down on my list of medical concerns, but now the paraesthesia is changing to include a burning sensation. If anyone has had experience with this problem, I would like to know about the progression because, it feels to me as if my finger tips are showing signs of something similar.

My last glucose was 80 (can’t) remember the units but I am pretty sure I am not diabetic.

Thank you in advance.

Zytiga has not been associated with peripheral neuropathy.

If you are not diabetic you need to consult with a neurologist to try to determine what is causing the neuropathy.

Oh yah! I’ve got this too. Getting very bad now after over six years with no t. My nat dr just advised me to start taking glucosamine chondroitin and msm together . I used these as a weightlifter at times before pc . I hope this does help. Massage helps. Hot and cold with Epsom salts helps hands and feet . Now my arms go numb at night ending in great pain in my thumb joints. All new in the last six months. I asked my gp he prescribed gabatin and Celebrex but after reading the side effects I tossed them . I’m Sorry that you suffer this as I do . We need to keep our joint moving with no impact .Addios ! 💪

Dr. Myers would advise against the use of chondroitin-sulfate which is common in "joint" supplements.

Hmmmmm. Thanks for that. I sometimes recall the gluco/chondroitin tablets prescribed to our poor old Newfoundland back in the day when she was alive and was aware it is available for humans and thought about taking it.Although the evidence might not be absolute against chondroitin it appears if I want to experiment I better not take the combo and take just the glucosamine alone. Just to be on the safe side.

By the way our veterinarian told us the gluco/chondroitin tabs from veterinary pharmacy were controlled production and that those available at wal-mart etc. for human use were liable to be uncontrolled in there quality.

I am dealing with “burning sensation “ bottom of feet at times. As in my case, it can be caused by spinal stenosis , especially in the lumbar region. In my case L3/L4 are the main culprits. The sensation apparently is one of feelings caused when spinal nerve is impinged, as well as possibly numbness and tingling.

Do you have any other symptoms of spinal compression? I have had pain associated with lumbar discs but for yesrs now i have had no back problems.

Same problem. Feet numb and legs like rubber. I think its side effects from the lupron or low t. Or both

For over a year and chemo was the main culprit it feels like i have pushed my feet into shoes full of sand. There is a disconnect between the bottom of my feet and toes and the ground on which I stand/walk.Sometimes I drive in my socks. I like the more direct link between my feet and the pedals but even in my socks there is a void in sensations.

I prefer to walk barefoot on tile floors

Me too. Or barefoot in sand which I rarely have the opportunity to do.

Low T Lupron, Zytiga, Bicalutamida is all I have to blame it on.
