PALLIATIVE CARE
Feeling very naked and exposed, Peeps has spent most of September in the Liver Unit at London Bridge Hospital but has finally been sent home to die. There is nothing more that can medically be done. He is now subject to Palliative Care at home with the help of the GP, District and Hospice Nurses but

Changing from Prednisone to Hydrocortisone
I am in remission for at least 6 years, Vasculitis (MPA) have gone from 6mg Prednisone to 20mg Hydrocortisone, I became really ill quite quickly and it was upped to 25mg Hydrocortisone. I am still in quite a lot of pain and stiffness along with low mood. Has anyone else had this experience, if so how

‘Asthma Demons’ (a song parody 😉)
‘Asthma Demons’ (tune: Demons by imagine dragons) When the days are cold/And your lungs both fold/And the pump you used/Don’t make lungs win gold When you can’t exhale /And the docs you hail/Are the worst of all/Breathing please don’t fail Just want to tell the truth/But they won’t listen to you/But

Smoking was killing me, and on top of that I was paying a fortune to have a slow suicide, well thank God I was able to stop 12 years ago. Since then my life changed so much, I did put extra weight on but more about that later. Before I stopped smoking I was smoking 180 cigarettes a week, which I couldn't

Inverse psoriasis & arthritis?
Hi, I've had problems with vaginal itching for almost a year and facial itching/burning and 'rash' for about 6 months. I have problems with flushing, which were greatly aggravated by a short course of steroids and the skin on my face hasn't been right since. I assumed rosacea but the 'rash' on my face

Palliative Care
Has anyone experienced palliative care. I think I need help with cognition, my extreme debilitating side-effects (musculoskeletal) if I/F combo (which is worse on week off Ibrance), maybe anxiety & insomnia & some social anxiety issues I’m having due to loss of cognition. I am also having a brain

Lost my mom to MSA
Hello everyone A month ago I lost my mom (55) to MSA. She had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2014 and was later diagnosed with MSA. Well, at least that's what they think. We still aren't 100 % sure. It has been a rough couple of years, watching her getting worse and worse. It started with

Side effects
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and looking for some advice. Last week I’d had three attacks in the space of a week that resulted in A&E treatment with salbutamol, atrovent, hydrocortisone, magnesium and pred tablets. I’ve had an attack free week and have finished the pred now

Sidewhacked by Richter’s transformation twice: epilogue
About 5 short weeks ago I posted about my hubby being sidewhacked by RT for the 2nd time. His treatment using R-GDP was deemed best and he received 1 cycle. He had several bouts of confusion subsequently with a bleed in the brain as the likely culprit due to his low platelets. Alas, a head CT scan revealed

Taking Hydrocortisone with NDT - Timing of Hydrocortisone doses
Currently taking 3 grains of Armour Thyroid at 7am along with 5mg Hydrocortisone. I then take another 5mg Hydrocortisone at 11am. My GP has now increased my daily Hydrocortisone from 10mg to 15mg but has written on the prescription to take 10mg in the morning and 5mg at night. Does anyone else take

Central hypothyroidism, is my thyroid working at all? Pituitary Does not produce TSH, so does Synthroid make it work
So, I’m really confused as to what my thyroid is doing these days... As my pituitary has definitely taken a holiday (diabetes insipidus, central hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency) I’m wondering if meds I take for the three conditions interact with each other? Diabetes insipidus. Desmopresson spray

In Hospice as of now.
My second attempt at setting up palliative/hospice care happened yesterday with a visit from the intake nurse from the new agency. She told me when she was still doing field work she had three cases of PSP. She actually knew something about the disease. I felt like this was the place we should be. Someone

Dad is losing his battle.
I’m so scared. Dad is getting palliative care at home. Every day he is deteriorating. New challenges. He’s breathless, low Hb, low platelets, fluids in his pleural cavity, lymph nodes are swollen, oedema, he coughs all the time. I’m besides myself with anxiety. I can’t bear to see him like that. This
