How to put on weight?
I have Hashimoto’s and am following a strictly gluten free diet. I find it difficult to maintain my weight and am just under 8sts, with alternating diarrhoea and constipation. I’m 5’6 so I could do with gaining some weight. I saw a dietician for a while who diagnosed SIBO: I followed the treatment: supplements

Wow, this Inversion Table is interesting! New member here!
Diagnose with PD in 2004. Had DBS surgery in 2016 and it was literally a Godsend! Totally eliminated the hand tremors which had become significant! Hit the gym EVERY morning 7 days a week with emphasis on cardio-vascular! Now my problem is "freezing of gate." However after getting my Teeter Inversion

DBS SURGERY
i am now celebrating six months since my DBS surgery. This surgery for me has truly been a gift of life renewed. If you are thinking about exploring this option and would like to hear more about it or have specific fears or questions, I would love to help. I, too, was afraid of having the surgery,

Hello, I'm new.
Hi Everyone, I'm recently diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer of the bone. My first go round was 2013 -I had a right mastectomy (18-21 nodes removed) and T + C chemo. Stacked DIEP flap reconstruction. I couldn't tolerate hormonal therapy then so I just did chemo. Bone mets appeared last April-big

What do you think of my Endo's comments!!
Hi All Well I saw the endocrinologist last week (privately - self funding) and he said my results are all fine. (Serum TSH 0.29 range 0.30-3.94, Serum Free T4 13.6 range 12.30-20.20, Serum Free T3 3.7 range 3.70-6.70). I asked him why my surgery had asked to see me following these results and he said

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else had heard or knew of a strong link between iga nephritis and gluten intolerance or other digestive issues? I'm receiving treatment to fix my immune system attacking my kidneys and have been reading up on the mechanism of activation of the iga in the body. Some

Is a gut biopsy worth the pain/effort?
I have suspected I have coeliac disease for many years, but I have been tested several times and am always negative. It was in one of the later tests that I discovered I had partial IgA deficiency which meant the previous testing was suspect. After a long, hard fight I succeeded in getting IgG testing

Brain Surgery Anyone?
I’m 28 w TRD and just went for a screening to see if I qualify for a clinical trial of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). DBS is brain surgery where they implant a device in your brain -it looks like a meat probe thermometer- and it sends small electrical impulses to your brain and alleviates depression.

Should I ask for T3 trial ?
I posted these results the other day in order to ask whether it was worth pursuing a trial of T3 since the conversion from T4 to T3 doesn't look great (FT3 isn't even in the middle of the range) but didn't get a response re: medication specifically. May 18 THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE 0.872 mIU/L 0.27

Bilateral ECT & DBS
I have major depressive disorder and anxiety, and I’ve had nearly 90 ECT treatments since 2012 and I just increased my treatments to bilateral last week. I feel like I cannot comprehend simple information anymore. I’m currently rereading a book and I just really don’t know what I’m reading and I feel

I am on high doses of Carbi/Levo (2 25/100's every 2 hours. Tremor wakes me 2-3 times a night, along with 4-5 trips to the bathroom. Sleep is terrible and pay for

Emerging Innovations in Parkinson Disease Treatment: Q&A With Dr Matthew Brodsky
Surgical interventions for Parkinson disease (PD) are experiencing a swell in innovation, thanks in part to the entry of two additional medical device companies into a field previously dominated by one company. Most innovation has focused on improvements in equipment in deep brain stimulation (DBS),
