My hamstring feels slightly tender done too much walking today after wk5 run 2. Does anyone use deep heat for this type of strain or would ice b better.

Hi Cazza, I use Deep Heat, applied before running. This is a throw back from when I played football years ago. Applied before training, it can help increase blood flow to the legs and help prevent injury. It doesn't necessarily work for everyone, but I have not picked up a calf strain or suffered a hamstring injury yet.

I use deep heat before a run on my calves if they're feeling a bit tight.

I’ve used Deep Heat, but at the same time of starting it, I began to do the stretch and flex program on here. I don’t use Deep Heat any more now, Running has become enjoyable. Try those exercises.
