Class 2 Medicines Recall: Rosemont Pharmaceuticals Limited, Metformin Hydrochloride 500mg/5ml Oral Solution, PL 00427/0139, EL (21)A/20
I get regular alerts for medicine recalls. Most are obscure products used only in hospital or highly specialist areas. However, when I see one that might be of more general applicability, that members might really be taking, I will post. [i]

A breakthrough-like effect of metformin reduces peripheral resistance to triiodothyronine in euthyroid, non-insulin-resistant, T2 diabetes
My main aim here is to identify to anyone interested that metformin appears to have an impact of T3 levels. Whether the hypotheses of the paper make any sense of that observation is, I fear, rather more questionable. (Though I accept is was very much acknowledged to be a pilot study.) [i]

Started on Dapagliflozin last week
Trying to stick with it until I get kidney function checked in the next week or so, but I am feeling awful. I can't do anything, have no energy, slept for about 20 hours yesterday and had horrible migraines with visual disturbance the 4 hours I was awake. No energy to walk anywhere and no eyesight to

Metformin and BC
Hello, ive never had pain in the nipple prior to having my period. Its been 3-4 days that I have been feeling pain in my nipples. Have to sleep with my stomach up. The pain feels like its stretching, and the nipples get really hard and very pinful.. any tips? Does this usually happen while taking metformin

Last couple of months, strong smell of nicotine, some coughing, but even that familiar 'taste' in my mouth?
I gave up smoking about thirty years ago, I only smoked for about eight years, but after giving up my weight went up about five stone, from 12 and a half to 17 and a half stone, which I have never really lost. March last year, diabetes 2 metformin 1000mg! The last three months, all I taste is nicotine

Metformin for Parkinson’s?
A while ago a doctor offered to prescribe metformin for me for PD. I have just started researching this as a possible alternative to other diabetes drugs. Are any of you taking it for PD off label or for Diabetes? Thank you

Treatment advised (after 21 years w & w)
I am 66 year old male Royal Marsden patient UK. Treatment has been advised (which has come as a big shock to me as it has never mentioned before) mostly because I have a really huge spleen. Apparently extending over to the right side of my abdomen and well below my navel on the left side. This was on

What is consensus on fenbendazole and metformin in terms of treating prostate cancer as of 2021?
Gleason 4+3, PSA 7.8, T2C M59 (my father). Looking for different ways to treat his prostate cancer including non-orthodox like Fenbendazole and metformin. What evidence we have as of 2021 to efficacy of these treatments? Even if anecdotal?
