where should i post ...the medication is ror AF from my cardiologist

I see you have been a member since 2019 and during that time you have had some AF related issues. I cannot recall seeing any posts about this medication but it seems to be more related to diabetes than AF. Are you keeping an eye on your blood pressure because this can also cause symptoms similar to those you are describing. Hope you feel better soon…….

I have recently started taking Dapagliflozin. As far as I know it is being prescribed for HF rather than AF but as I do have both, I’m not sure. It was originally developed for diabetes but has been found to be beneficial for HF so has been repurposed for that. I have not felt faint since taking it although I do feel dizzy sometimes when I stand up from sitting.

Yes, I’m on this and it removes sugars from your system and passes it in urine. Most people notice that their urine is a darker colour and a faint odour. It was developed originally for diabetes but was found to be beneficial for those with HF and AF so has been prescribed for some time. I’ve been on it for seven months but lots of people on here have been on it much longer.

I take it alongside Entresto, digoxin, edoxiban, carvedilol, furosemide, and allopurinol, most of which can cause dizziness and low blood pressure so although I get faint most days I don’t know which drug /drugs are responsible.

Drug control is a constant evaluation of balance between side effects and benefits and sometimes you have compromise. I take my lightheaded spells as a minor price to pay. My meds have been juggled so much over the years that I’m now grateful to have pretty minor side effects.

Hi Jamse! I take this medication too, it was prescribed by my cardiologist in Spain after a pacemaker implant derived from Ibrutinib toxicity. He told me to take it with Merformin, and said this medication was good for the heart. I do have type II diabetes though.
