Gut microbiota composition reflects disease severity and dysfunctional immune responses in patients with COVID-19
The possible implications of gut microbiota have often been discussed here in relation to thyroid disorders and more. It is in the spirit of adding to that, I post about the new paper below. Please try to keep comments to this subject. :-) [i]

When should I be taking these vitamins and tablets?
Hi I’m currently pregnant and taking more tablets than normal so wondered if anyone had any advice on when I should be taking the following? Levothyroxine - I take it as soon as I wake in the morning then wait an hour at least before eating or drinking tea. Iron - twice daily - I take it around midday

Hep C and Fibrosis
Hi guys, I am hep c positive and just had my bloodwork results come back. I’m petrified because my dr told me I have fibrosis. Now I have to have an ultrasound to find out how scarred my liver is. I’ve been doing inet searches and scaring the hell out of myself because I think I’m starting to show symptoms

Covid 19 and vitamins - preliminary results of observational study
Research shows some vitamin supplements may have a small effect on COVID-19 risk December 1, 2020 Many people think that taking vitamins and other supplements can help maintain a healthy immune system. At the beginning of the pandemic, sales of supplements skyrocketed and vitamin shelves were stripped

SUPPLEMENTING INTO (OR OUT OF) A HEALTHIER LIFE?
Okay, I realize most hypo or hyper thyroid patients take hormone pills, T4 or T3, NDT or combo’s of these. But, I also realize that vitamin supplementation is needed and, in fact some thyroid problems are, ostensibly performed by osteopaths that many claim have helped them considerably & a combination

questions about Rytary
My neurologist has suggested that I try Rytary at night instead of C/L extended release, to see if it improves early morning symptoms (mostly leg stiffness). I'm not sure if it's worth making a change, if the morning symptoms aren't terribly bothersome. I'd like to hear others experiences with Rytary

Timing of/taking supplements
Hi I already take quite a few supplements ie vits/minerals etc. Take magnesium, calcium, multi Bs, Omega 3, D3 etc. I've only just been more aware of the timing of taking them, when alerted to possible iron level issues with RA. As I'm also vegan, I have tried to separate certain ones like magnesium

Help please - Armour thyroid, B12, D, Magnesium, B complex and selenium advice.
How long should I leave between taking my Armour thyroid and taking Sublingual liquid B12? Do I need to take B complex as well if my MultiVitamin (which has high absorbancy) has all the Bs? My multi has 200 mcg selenium, do I still need to take selenium? It also has 600 mcg folate and 100 mcg B12. I

Medical Alert Bracelet?
Hello, I was told that I have SLE and more recently, that I also have antiphospholipid syndrome (no symptoms for APS besides lab results). I'm only on Plaquenil and a baby aspirin along with Vitamin C, D, and iron. I'm not sure if I need a medical alert bracelet or not, or if that would be an overreaction

Very interesting Vitamin C Review
Much more concerning neurodegeneration and Alzheimer's particularly, not so much PD but still of note. Takes a slow read but very interesting, reminded me about how excess stress does affect aging and neurodegeneration generally, as per aging generally, and Vitamin C role in slowing it, but the idea

COPD & vitamin D
I have severe (COPD) Emphysema & Sjogrens . My GP prescribed Evacal 400iu chewable Vitamin D twice a day a few months ago and has made a great improvement to how I feel. It is combined with vit C but I think because of lockdown and not getting enough time outside I was Vit D deficient . GP says ok
