Hi everybody, I am new to this forum
I have followed your posts for a short while and I am grateful for the comments and advice you constantly give. I was diagnosed with PMR and GCA 2 years ago. My profile explains my experience with this illness and relapses. I am now on 9mg Prednisolone, tapering 1mg per month. About one month after

Targeted cortisone injection
I twice had a targeted cortisone injection for inflammation in the shoulder. It helped the shoulder pain and by the way my severe headaches disappeared for a while. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

Bacterial meningitis
It has been almost 4 years since I was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis from a ear infection. This is my question, received a cortisone injection in the knee and ever since have had headache/head pain/ear pain/dizziness and nausea. These are all side effects from the injection, but shoot away in

Has anyone successfully used Dr. Peatfield´s Adrenal Fatigue protocol?
I have read several articles by Dr. P where he stresses that treating and optimising adrenal health is crucial before adding thyroid hormone. He recommends using glandulars or HC/prednisone (depending on how severe the condition is) for 8-12 weeks and then trying to wean off it and see if the thyroid

Missing my runs
Hi everyone. I started the C25K a year ago and succeeded in completely it then on to try 10k and again completed the 10k. I was so happy with my achievements and throughly enjoyed it and I felt physically and mentally good. By September I was able to run 7.5 miles and at a good pace, I did all the recommendations

Numbness and PMR?
What is going on???? Help I was ab look e to reduce to 4 1/2 mg of prednisone. I told the doctor that I wanted to come off the methotrexate to see how things would go. He said I would know in 6 to 8 weeks. The pain has come back pretty bad so I guess I will have to go back on it. I hate taking it because

Understanding your blood test
Hi all, Happy New Year etc! I have finally managed to translate my blood test results and for anyone else out there who is also bemused, I am attaching a guide to help you understand the basics. Ranges are often slightly different, or expressed differently in different countries or even clinics but really

Request X-Ray?
Moan alert - the wee round bones on my wrist (I'm not sure what they're called...tendon bones?) are really throbbing after a spell of cold, Scottish rain. Recently, following an ultrasound, I was told the bone sheath is damaged and had I ever had an x-ray (I said I hadn't then there was a big silence

Burning legs
I want to appeal to all the knowledgeable RLS sufferers to see if they can help my dear husband who has been suffering from burning feet and legs. It has been diagnosed as a nerve trapped in lower spine which has been troublesome for years and is pretty wonky. He has had cortisone injections in the past

Cortisone shot affects
I recently had two cortisone shots in my hand on the same day. One for a trigger finger the other for carpal tunnel. I have been able to reduce my prednisone to 5mg. I have no body pain what do ever. I am afraid to go down any further thinking the shots may have given me a total body boost of steroids

Dose pack of methyl prednisone while on 4 mg of prednisone
Good morning. I am currently on 4mg of prednisone daily and auto injections of Actemra once a month. This is my sixth year trying to keep my PMR under control. Things have been going well for the last four months. Unfortunately I have two herniated disc’s due to a kayak trip. I have seen a neurosurgeon

First outside run for 2 weeks yay 😃
Managed a little 3 k run outside this morning but had to stop when left leg went into spasm. 🥲🥲 getting cortisone injection on Thursday so don’t think I’ll push it again this week ☹️☹️☹️☹️ Hopefully I’ll be able to run again soon I’ll have to see what consultant says on Thursday. Happy safe running

Ultrasound guided cortisone injection
After a 4 month wait I finally got an injection in my wrist. It is nipping like hell and I feel a bit spaced out - but here's hoping it will help. Hurrah

Cortisone Injections, drug interactions and ectopics
Nearly two weeks ago I had a cortisone injection in my foot as I have a problems with the tendons as well as osteoarthritis. My EP has said to increase my Atenolol if I’m having procedures that can put my body under stress or if I am ever unwell (I usually take 25mg so can double it). I took extra meds

Cortisone/ablation spinal injection
I have RA and have arthritis in my lower back. I’ve been offered a cortisone spinal injection so help ease the inflammation. Also, if this doesn’t help with the pain they can then do a radio frequency ablation. Has anyone had either of these? Ss
