Is stopping Dabigatran for 5 days an overkill?
I am due to have an injection of cortisone and local anaesthetic in to my lower back, guided by X-ray. My consultant’s secretary has just called to book it and said that he said I have to stop dabigatran 5 days before the procedure. I am not happy doing that as my AF is quite active at the moment

I have been using ie: Symbicort for many years and now having issues with thinning skin and bruise very easily. The bruises on hands and sometimes arms are very dark big blotches sometimes they seem to appear without much effort. I feel it may have something to do with the Symbicort and cortisone I

Trouble with fine motor skills
I have arthritis, Depuytrens and calcification of some of the bones in my hands. When I attempt to do anything like picking small items up my hands tremor slightly. Anyone else experience similar? I also have osteoarthritis in both knees and I'm having cortisone injections on them both tomorrow. Hope

Osteoarthritis treatment
I have osteoarthritis in both my knees and the doc is giving me cortisone injections in them both tomorrow. I have diabetes and glaucoma so have read my blood sugar levels will rise after and it can also affect pressure in my eyes? Also, will some kind of numbing gel be applied first?

A treadmill walk + a treadmill slow jog
Hiya, A bit fast to be posting again, sorry. But today after work I planned on adding a run after my walk. No going outside thanks to my hideous excuse of a face. I have a very bad reaction to too long use of cortisone salve and need to avoid people in order not to give them nightmares. But luckily I

New member, but not new to RA
Hiya, My name is Evy and I am a 41 year old woman who lives in Belgium with her 2 cats. I am a member of some running communities here on HealthUnlocked and thought to join this group too. I have been diagnosed with RA early 2013, when I was 32 years old, after struggling with pains in hands and feet

Warfarin and INR and cortisone injection
Hi guys and gals, Further to my post just over 2 weeks ago. Well 1 April came and I had the magic jab into the right shoulder, amazingly, I am almost pain free with an incredable amount of improved mobility .... can almost get my jacket on without assistance. I got my INR down to 1.7 in 2 days from 2.2

Knee replacement
In the past year, I have gone from completely mobile to completely dependent on my walker. I have had bad knee pain, so I saw an orthopedic surgeon about knee replacement, but he said the arthritis in my knees did not warrant replacement yet. However I got to thinking if I were to get the replacement

Covid, severe arythymia, hypoglycaemia, Low cortisone ??? NOW SEEM TO BE RUNNING ALOW GRADE / HAVING A FLARE FEVER
Hi all UPDATE: I have felt quite poorly since yesterday afternoon again - feel like I have a low grade fever (but I have a very low body temp naturally - Hypothyroidism - and so doctors always say it’s ok) I feel inflamed all over. Did wonder if I was having a flare - there are some tell tale signs

WARFARIN INR AND SHOULDER INJECTIONS
G'day guys and dolls ....... well at long, long last I am to have my guided cortisone injection into my right shoulder on Friday 1 April. I am planning to stop Warfarin on Sunday night ( being the day of my last dose) in order to get my INR down to around 1.2 or 1.3 by the Friday. Based on my statistics

Covid, severe arythymia, hypoglycaemia, Low cortisone ???
Hi all - I contracted Covid on the 27th Feb. I have been pretty poorly - landing up in A&E needing to have my heart reset. Heart rate was 236 and blood pressure extremely low. They don’t know what caused it but could have been a Mast Cell Activation reaction to Amoxycillin. I upped my Pred dose from
