Arthritis in knee
HI, Dextersam10 you might get more answers about your Osteoarthritis on the HU arthritis site. This is the Osteoporosis site. Good luck.
I was getting cortisone shots in my knees and hips for years. They won't give them to people as frequently anymore. I had one knee replaced in 2007 and my doctor wrote a letter to Orthopedic Surgeon asking that after surgery, he send me to a physical therapy hospital for a prescribed time and not rely on sending me home and recommending a PT gym. Orthopedic Surgeon never discussed this with me but my GP said I wouldn't have a problem.
After surgery he refused her request and sent me home. I did not do well and have been in agony since then. I needed the daily PT offered in a hospital styled environment
I should have worn knee braces between less frequent cortisone shots and started PT right away. I can't walk at all without a wheelie. Look for alternatives and avoid surgery
