I recently had two cortisone shots in my hand on the same day. One for a trigger finger the other for carpal tunnel. I have been able to reduce my prednisone to 5mg. I have no body pain what do ever. I am afraid to go down any further thinking the shots may have given me a total body boost of steroids. I read mixed reviews on this.
Opinions? Thank you !!

It isn't uncommon for someone having steroid injections to discover that their general pain is relieved - and a PMR diagnosis to be made. So yes, it may well have had an effect - though how long it will last remains to be seen. Of course, it may also be that it is just helping you reduce more easily to the dose that is right for your PMR at present. Don't go mad - but keep on keeping on ...
Early days before diagnosis when GP thought I had frozen shoulder, I had 3 cortisol shots in total - not all together I hasten to add, but 4 months apart. I found they all gave a couple of week relief for my then undiagnosed GCA, but no longer than that….so yes they may have given relief in other places, or at least enabled you to reduce Pred dose as stated by PMRpro
