Symptoms but results within ‘normal limits’
hello, Asking for some advice re my recent bloods. I have a range of symptoms which have been ongoing for a number of years, but have become more acute since stopping the pill. These include hair loss, very cold hands and feet, tiredness, some weight gain despite normal activity, swollen tongue

2 years post op for catamenial pneumothoraces and on Yasmin, getting pains again. Anyone else?
2 years ago my daughter experienced numerous spontaneous pneumothoraxes(at least 7 in a 4 month period, then 5 more while in hospital during a 3 week stay) at the very beginning of puberty aged 14. At 15 after a right side pleurectomy the pneumothoraxes stopped though the pains continued until she was

My first post: diagnostic laparoscopy didn't find anything but the horrible pain is still there
Hello, this is my first post here and I apologise for how long it is. I guess I am looking for some hope and advice. I am feeling really upset today because I had another phone call with my new gp who seems not to listen to me. I am forty, I’ve always suffered from bad periods (so did my mum and

14 year old daughter facing laparoscopy
Hi, I’m hoping to get some advice and support about my 14 year old daughter. I’ve got endo myself and have suffered for 30+ years with it, I had a radical hysterectomy 8 years ago. My worst fears appear to be a reality as my daughter has suffered horrendous period pain since she started 4 years ago.

Pregnancy disrupts the accuracy of automated fT4 immunoassays
This paper includes: Indeed the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry working group for Standardization of Thyroid Function Tests acknowledged the need for standardization of the fT4 assay. Have to say, in my facetious moments, I have wonder what the IFCCSTFT group do when they are

Finally received Endo diagnosis following laparoscopy... advice/support for next steps please!
Hi Everyone, I had investigative laparoscopy surgery back in October this year. I finally had my endometriosis diagnosed (it's only taken 18 years, for someone to truly listen), it was removed along with scarring and I had a mirena coil fitted. The validation I had after the surgery was unlike anything

good news I think…
thank you to everyone who sent reassurance. The Gynaecologist I saw today is convinced my Ca125 results are related to something that isn’t OC. She based this on a past ultrasound that said ovaries normal. She thought possibly my thyroid nodules which are being investigated in parallel. My pains

Anyone gone private?
I’ve been waiting for three years on the NHS for a laparoscopy to get a diagnosis. I know that isn’t a very long time in the world of diagnosing endometriosis but I’m getting to the end of my tether with the waiting and the lack of information. I’ve been on the contraceptive pill to manage the pain

Endometriosis for 3rd time?
Hello, I've not written before but have recently been reading a lot of your posts for advice/reassurance. I am currently seeing my GP for suspected Endo. I have the implant for contraception and she has put me on Cerazette for pain management. Previously had 2 Laps, the first (2015) was quite horrific

One step back again...incredibly frustrated
Hello all. I saw a consultant in September for a diagnostic laparoscopy and coil insertion. However, because I work in the hospital I opted to have it done somewhere different. 3 months later I was accepted at another hospital by a consultant who agreed to do the lap. Which is due on Friday. However

am I going crazy lol
Endometriosis?? I feel like this is so much more than what it is. I suffer so bad with dizzyness and sickness and stomach cramps and constipation and then diarrhoea. I have hot flushes I’m constantly tired. Is this all endometriosis like they tell me. Or am I going thru something else as well. Been waiting

Combined pill + missed period
Hi, I have been on the combined pill (microgynon) for around 2 years now. I once stopped a pack for a month and went back on my period with no problems. However, recently I decided to track any changes when taking the pill and when not, so I stopped for this month. Now, I am 10 days late and my last

Back on meds
I've always had difficulty believing I had PD. So 5 weeks ago I stopped taking Rytary. During the 5 weeks I had periods that led me to think I was having withdrawal symptoms. It's only been two days back on the meds but so far nothing much happening. Along with Rytary I've been taking Linzess

Problems in diagnosing.
So I am literally feeling at the end of my tether now. For many years I have had various symptoms. A lot of them started after being on the contraceptive injection which beforehand I was a very active healthy person, now I feel completely the opposite. I gained around 4 Stone whilst on the injection

Severe pain after coil insertion
Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you had experienced bad pain after having a coil fitted? I decided to get one while I’m in a long waiting list to see yet another specialist as my current pill hasn’t been doing much to help. While I haven’t been having periods whilst on the pill, I have been experiencing
