Hi lovelies,

A bit of background for you: practice husband had Klinefelters (and an inability to keep it in his pants) and I was apparently fine, regular cycle, every 30 days like clockwork just too fat. Always been at the heavier end since puberty averaging about 13st, had risen to 18st during Uni but busted my arse to get down as far as I could 14st 9 and was the fittest I’d ever been (running 10k’s, gym 3x a week) which considering I grew up un a farm was pretty fit anyway. Lugging straw bales and chasing cows does that to you.

BMI of 35 so went private in 2014 in Denmark for IUI with donor. 1st cycle failed so they used Clomid and trigger shot for 2nd cycle which also failed. PCOS vaguely mentioned by Denmark clinic. Cue mental breakdown and eventual marriage breakdown.

Been with lovely Official Husband since 2016.I’m 38 this year and OH will be 32. Haven’t bothered with contraception as utterly convinced it wasn’t happening.

After stupid cycle becoming stupider, yo yoing between 26 days to 36 days with delightful mid cycle bleeding and increased heaviness leading to anaemia, well as a continued inability to get lower than a BMI of 35, was diagnosed with probable PCOS by GP.

BMI is probably about eleventy billion by now. Initial tests done, OH has good stuff, (mine were done day 21 for some reason and suggest I hadn’t ovulated?) and referral made for investigations in September 2022.

Except the referral was never sent off.🤬

Now have to repeat everything.😭

Not entirely sure why I have posted this except to get it out of my head. They do say a problem shared is a problem halved.

Totally get it, you have been through a lot. So frustrating about referral not being made! Hopefully you will get some answers soon. Are you in a position to get some private advice/treatment or are you on the NHS? Everyone on here really understands what you are going through and they always have good advice. I hope writing post helps - like you said sometimes you just need to say it out loud. Xx
