Constant Bleeding... Help?!

Hello,

Bit of a back story I have been suffering with period bleeding for 3 1/2 weeks and then about 3 days break every single month, I have been trying for a baby for about over a year +, i have been on the pill and injection when I was younger for about 2 months but it really didn't mix when with me. I have been off that for about 5-6 years. I don't really suffer with any cramps or abdominal pain, just sciatica in my hip and leg frequently which could be something else.

for over 4 years roughly doctors have given me tranexamic acid on and off which has worked for a period of time but now isn't really working, I am Just getting fed up and bogged down with it now and now I'm getting older too so I have decided to do something about this and keep at them and try to get something sorted!

doctor's have tested for for all sorts (blood tests) was really low on iron but that has gone up and i have now stopped having blood clots the size of golf balls. but still having constant bleeding. i have now just had a scan and transvaginal scan and it come back fine but said it could be a blood clot on the scan or small polyp, but because of my age and the size of it, it was fine if it was a polyp.

Finally i have been referred to gynae as these appointments are like gold dust I really don't want to waste it as such, is there any question that i should be asking going through the above? what should i expect for my first appointment, the letter didn't state how long the appointment is or that they will be doing an inspection, so now sure what will happen. Hope you can help me as it is very much so appreciated!! 🙃

hi Im older than you at 53. I have started to have extremely heavy periods clots etc. Lasting 3 weeks. Its awful trying to work etc. I was diagnosed after a pelvic ultrasound with lots of fibroids. I was referred to gynae last week. During the appointment I had two biopsies and am being referred for a hysteroscopy which gives them a better view. Take some painkillers before your appointment. The Dr I had was lovely and said If uncomfortable with anything she would stop. Although not pleasant anything to sort out the heavy bleeding is with it. Hope you get the answer to your questions. They do take history etc and seem to listen but i guess test results give them a clear picture. Good luck with your appointment
