Hi all, I have lean pcos and was diagnosed via ultrasound after coming off the pill a year ago and not having a period.
I had elevated testosterone levels on a blood test but everything else was fine (I have no unwanted hair growth).
I started very lightly spotting a month ago and to the day I'm now having a period with bad cramping and sore breasts (but again, VERY light brown spotting)! Has anyone else had this? Why are my periods so light?
I was given provera in August and this prompted a proper period so I'm worried things might be building up!
The doctor has given me Metformin (I don't even know if I'm insulin resistant though!) Started taking it today.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hii. I hope you are well. I got diagnosed with pcos 2 years ago, when I was 19. I wasn't on any contraceptive pill beforehand but struggled with getting my period and if I got it, once every few months, it was so painful. They did a lot of tests including blood work and ultrasound and afterwards I got diagnosed. They put me in a pill, to put simply, help induce my period every month but the withdrawal bleeding I get is also mostly just brown/dark spotting and still painful. I hope this makes you feel a little better and that you are not alone.
