Do we have to bandage out sites for the duration of having it? I did not like the belt so I use the lanyards for my catheter; they are more comfortable.

eGFR moving up???
My eGFR first registered below "normal" February 2018. But it wasn't until January 2020 that I saw the CKD diagnosis on my chart. By then I was at eGFR of 28 and stage 4. Then July 2020 I had a dehydration crisis and ended up with an eGFR of 7. My primary care Dr. assumed it was from T2D. But I still

Itch problem
[i]My husband still has uncontrollable itching from his kidney failure. He has an extreme itchy time sitting for hours in a vinyl chair at dialysis. He sometimes has to disconnect early and leave. I cannot find any type of cushion or something cold to order that would keep his back from flaring up

To poop or not to poop, that is the question
I am about to embark on taking a phosphorous binder. I will be taking Sevelamer or Renvela at 800mg, one tablet with meals. I only eat two meals a day. WHAT can I do to prevent constipation. I already have an issue with it because of Ozempic and being on dialysis. I had to stop eating oatmeal every day

Feeling isolated & depressed
My 60-year-old husband is in renal failure, on nightly peritoneal dialysis, and on the transplant list. I've been feeling frustrated, anxious and isolated, and that often comes out in anger. Every day is the same: I work from home, take care of the dog, pay bills, do housework, and have dinner ready

Hi there. Thank you for letting me join the group. 6 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease and am on regular dialysis. I have since developed restless leg syndrome which has got steadily worse. Pramipexole was prescribed but honestly doesn't help much. As soon as I sit down to relax it

Choosing your own in-center doctor?
Hello, everyone! My mom has been at her new dialysis center for about three months, and the doctor and NP assigned to her are pretty terrible. We noticed that a former patient had their own nephrologist who came to the center to go over lab results and handle any dialysis-related issues. That patient

Can a dialysis patient use protein power?
My protein level is low even with the Pro-Stat the kidney center gives to me, Is it ok to use whey protein powder? i mean in it the potassium is 160 mg per serving, Cholesterol is 55mg. I'm a dialysis person.I'm thinking cutting the per serving to half so to decrease the potassium.

Dialysis or Transplant?
I have had 19 blood readings of 20 or less (to 11) since May 2021. Currently 14. Exhausted. Fatigued is not the word! There has been no talk of transplant at all. Only Haemodialysis, as I am on my own with no support it would be in hospital. Also it would be in a satellite premises a 1.5 hours

Danger Danger, Will Robinson...... More on my HHD Experince
There used to be a television show back in my day where the robot would flail his mechanical arms, blink all his lights and yell “Danger, Danger Will Robinson.” Well, we have had our own HHD episodes of “Danger, Danger.” I sort of smile, not laugh at them now. But oh boy…. It seems amazing to be that

C.K.D stage 4/5
I have at present an EGFR of 10 at my hospital we don't start dialysis until its consecutively below ten. I have tried to discuss transplantation and have been told I'm not there yet. Apparently I need yo be having dialysis before it's even discussed. Can I ask is there a.reason for that. I am very curious
