Amino Acids-Protein Hydrolysate - the generic form of Pro-Stat RC.

Does anyone on Dialysis use Amino Acids-Protein Hydrolysate, the generic form of Pro-Stat RC? If so, how does it taste. I've tried LiquaCel and it's just nasty.

I don't mind Liqicel if its the Lemon one...I mix with just a bit of water..and take it like a shot...it does help to get you back on the map after treatment

I had bought the grape based on reviews and recommendations, but just could not get past the taste, no matter what I put it in. So lemon is better?

I think it is...its also hard to get...but of all the ones I can't stand, its grape...I also don't like mango...but apple and watermelon are okay...I mix about 1/4 of my Bai Coconut water with any of them and drink it in a sip or two...I feel like it really helps get me going...

My protein levels suck, even after all the chicken, fish and eggs I'm eating. With all the eggs I feel like I'm stuck in the "Cool Hand Luke" movie (if you've ever seen it). I was hoping to find someone who had used Pro-Stat RC before i shelled out $45 for a bottle.

II struggle with Protein Level too...the highest I can get to is 3.5...the Clinic wants at least 4.0. I eat protien constantly and it never seems to budge...Last time I had labs the Doc decided that the Dialysis probably pulls off a good part of my protien each night...they usually take my labs early morning, so she wants me to try a late afternoon blood draw to see if I am really that low all day...Kind of makes sense and I am curious to see my next labs

Soooo, let me ask you this. Does the protein "test" only show what your protein is on that given day, at that given hour they draw the blood? Not a very accurate test if it doesn't show how you're doing over a period of time I would think. You could load up on protein the day before and of the test (high protein midnight snack?) and show a good test result but that wouldn't be an accurate showing of your levels. Same if you didn't eat much protein just the day before and day of. Wish there were more accurate ways of testing it that would show like a range of two weeks or something.

Yeah...its just the nature of testing blood..its a small snap shot of whats going on at the time of the blood draw...I guess thats why they go alot on "how we feel"...but, let's test you again next month..lol
