I was offered a cpap machine during covid and used it a few times.my partner was horrified.we then split up anyway but in the angst and trauma of the split I just left the machine with him and I am far away from him now luckily BUT I can never get the machine back and contacting him I am advised not to do at all for my mental health.Because of covid I never properly saw anyone ..it was all remote..even picking up the machine..so sadly I think if I had had person contact they would have encouraged me to continue using it.Can I get another where I am now do you think?are sleep clinics in most counties?can I do anything else to avoid the machine and would not using a machine be detrimental to my health?the flip side is it gave me anxiety which also causes bad sleep..can those watches you get that measure oxygen be an accurate gauge and can weight loss help?

Just explain your situation to the ‘new’ Lung Dept. The machines are about £1k so you might get a bit of blowback about losing one but get a face to face appointment. Discuss the problems you had last time. I use a nose only ‘mask’ because I felt quite claustrophobic with the mask covering both nose and mouth (game changer for me). And work from there. I have a husband who would much rather I was well. Cross that bridge when you come to it. At the moment you only need to look after yourself.
