My dad has been battling prostate cancer for 15+ years . He goes to University of Chicago. He is 74. Early 2000’s- prostate removed - not clean margins. Did no further treatment 2004 - Cancer came back. Only seen on PSA test. Watched for years until PSA finally doubled. 2007-2008- went on Lupron

diarrhea flares ?
My dad had radiation that ended in January. Currently on Lupron. Had his last shot July 7th and his PSA was .02. He had a lot of issues post radiation, with diarrhea and gas, but that subsided and he has been good for a while. All the sudden these symptoms are happening again. When he had his last Lupron

CRISPR Identifies New Genes as Drivers of Prostate Cancer Metastasis
Three research groups recently independently elucidated the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms driving prostate cancer metastasis. The innovative use of CRISPR technology not only facilitated the discovery of the genes but also opened potential new avenues for targeted cancer therapies to prevent metastasis

Just and update
Thought I'd update...many of you are familiar with my clinical history (attached). In April, I met with my radiologist and oncologist, we agreed to come off Orgovyx after 12 months plus SBRT to a single PLN node identified in a March 2023 scan. My oncologist favored six more months, well, pretty sure

Erectile dysfunction meds and side effects
My husband is getting brachytherapy in September and then IG IMRT in October. He is currently on Orgovyx for month two and will be adding zytega next month. Good news is that his PSA has gone to 2 and Testosterone to 9 after a month on Firmagon so meds seem to be doing what are supposed to. Drs have

My MSK Precise / SBRT Journey -- 2.5 Years Post-Treatment
I completed SBRT treatment for Gleason 7 (3+4) PCa at MSKCC in NYC in November 2021. My PSA was 8.7 right before the treatment. My doctor: Dr. Michael Zelefsky. Since that time: -- My PSA as of May 2024 is 1.32. -- I've had no real urinary issues since treatment except for some bouts of urgency especially

Question
Was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer with several mets to the bones and a Gleason score of 10. This was in January 2023. I have been on darolutamide and relugolix since then and also 6 rounds of docetaxol. Everything was good until recently with an increase in PSA from non detectable

Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Just started Zytiga, prednisone and hormone shots for recurrent prostate cancer that has returned and spread to lungs. Just wondering if anyone else is taking these drugs and what their experience has been with side effects the first month or so. Thanks.
