Consider that it is observational and sponsored by Bayer but...Darolutamide Bests Other Androgen Receptor Inhibitors in nmCRPC
Worth knowing, even if we suppose that the key to beat prostate cancer is a combo therapy... "Patients with nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC) have a lower risk of treatment discontinuation and disease progression if they receive darolutamide rather than other androgen receptor

Abiraterone/prednisone plus olaparib extends time to progression in BRCA/ATM mutated prostate cancer.
I have already talked about this data, but it's worth repeating...plus when I see dr Hussain I always smile! “Our data showed that the combination therapy resulted in more than two-fold increase in the median time to disease progression compared to single-agents or sequentially following progression

Was hoping not to post again, but...
Hello everyone! I posted this over three years ago: I am 53. Had RP in October (2020). Pathology was G9 pT3bN1M0 with ECE, SVI and positive margin. Had 39 IMRT salvage radiation sessions. Just had my 3rd three month Lupron injection and take the 4 horse pills daily. Right now my PSA and testosterone

Duke study about testosterone's dual PCa effectiveness
https://corporate.dukehealth.org/news/study-solves-testosterones-paradoxical-effects-prostate-cancer Its good to suppress it until its bad to not supplement it... AKA BAT but perhaps applicable someday to advanced PCa patients.

Study Solves Testosterone’s Paradoxical Effects in Prostate Cancer, Duke Health, Published September 04, 2024
This research appears to be a major breakthrough in our understanding of PCa's development and progression. It is also new evidence that further validates Dr. Abraham Morgantaler's testosterone "Saturation Model" and the underlying principles that make BAT effective. There is much in the Nature Communications

we will soon know more about Nubeqa

in vivo/vitro: CRISPR delivery inhibits prostate cancer
some fellow Italians created an interesting crispr targeted system that has a very small off target delivery “This proof-of-principle study indicates that immunoliposome-based CRISPR delivery could offer a precise, non-toxic method for treating prostate cancer.” https://crisprmedicinenews.com/news

In lung cancer for now…but eIF4A1 Is expressed also by prostate cancer!
it is very promising in vivo and in vitro, esp for lung metastasis ”In a study published in Clinical Cancer Research, the researchers demonstrate that the compound can reduce lung metastasis in mice by over 90 per cent, while also shrinking the primary tumour site.” https://news.ubc.ca/2024/09/drug-discovery-could-prevent-spread-of-childhood-bone-cancer

Is anyone here taking Xtandi alongside Berberine & quercetin?
Is anyone here taking Xtandi alongside Berberine & quercetin? Some evidence online is saying that they inhibit the enzyme that metabolizes Xtandi - possibly making it too strong in the system. Just wondered if anyone was taking all 3 and what effects if any they noticed. Thanks.

Worth the trip to Mayo-Rochester?
Howdy all! I was officially diagnosed with prostate cancer this past week in Germany. I have a PSMA, MRI, blood work and Biopsy (available next week) in hand upon my return. It looks pretty severe with the prostate cancer wrapping around my rectum, multiple bone lesions, a few lymph nodes, and possibly

Delivery delivery! Bone targeted nano-drug and nano-delivery (in vivo/vitro)
Because one of the worst enemies is not the prostate cancer itself, but the metastasis, especially to the bones! Nanotechnologies seem to be on their way for precision payload delivery to our bones! https://www.nature.com/articles/s41413-024-00356-2

change in meds?
I’m about to be changed over from Degarelix (Firmagon) to Prostap (Lupron) in a couple of weeks because 3 monthly injection is more convenient. I’ve read that Degarelix is better though.., maybe I should ask to stay on that? Or I’m wondering about asking to switch to Orgovyx instead. I’ve had a quite

Provenge for Hormone Sensitive Men

Prolia vs Zometa
For 3 years I was on Eligard/Xtandi and was receiving Prolia to help keep bone health. All good, undetectable. Then an 18 month vacation, which I am coming off of. All treatment to be the same as before, except th MO wants to change from Prolia to Zometa. Anyone use both of those, Prolia and Zometa

Best Place to Get Solid or Liquid Tumor Genetic Testing for Prostate Cancer
I saw the post with this heading but it’s 7 years old. I’d ideally like testing done on my husbands prostate after it’s removed. his 23& me test years ago says he does not have either of the BRCA genes, but there are many more I’m sorry if this has been already handled.
